iphone facetime help...

I just got an iphone4. I'm trying to use facetime with a friend and it wont work. I'm connected to my network. I click facetime and nothing, i see myself and then it does nothing until it says unable to connect. Im on verizon

What am I doing wrong?

facetime hardly ever works for me either so i use Tango instead. It's a free app and it works just like facetime.

You both need to be on Wi-Fi.

Negative. If an iPhone is jailbroken, you can Facetime on 3G by using 3G Unrestrictor, FaceBreak or My3G.

Are you both on wifi? Have you tried updating ur phone?

yea we are both on wifi. It said there was a new update but I didn't do it yet.

I don't think I'll be jailbreaking the phone at least not yet. It is only a day old and I'd rather not fuck up a day old phone haha.

Do the update on both phones and try again.. And trust me you won't mess up your phone jailbreaking it, you're just missing out. And you can always go back to stock

So im kinda in the dark about jailbreaking. i googled it but i cant decide which is a good source to read up on it at.

Jailbreak it. It's the best thing you can do to your iPhone. Just jailbroke it for two family members and they love it. 3rd party apps rock...Bitesms, Tetherme, SBSettings and most importantly Installous.
