These guys are all over the place around Denver at this time of year, but I finally got the classic pose of the bird straddling two branches. The light was pretty strong, so I couldn't quite get the feather detail that I wanted, but it works as is, I think.

These guys come in a month or so before the females and make their call every few seconds for weeks. They put a lot of energy into it and I'm amazed that they have any energy left for sex when the ladies arrive.

Haven't posted anything in quite a while. Not sure I'm quite happy w/ the crop on this one, but it seems it would look weird if only part of the slider were in the pic. Ultimately, a better framing of the shot was probably in order.
