Aesthetically they will look the same when on the car. The OEM Performance carbon fiber mirror cover is substantially thinner due to the fact that it is a carbon fiber mold of the standard mirror cap.

The back picture of the caps look to be 2X2 weave while the front picts look like they are all 1X1. Are these available in 2X2?

The BMW Performance OEM caps are a 2x2 carbon weave and the OEM Mirror over with aftermarket carbon overlay has a 1x1 weave that matches the OEM E92 M3 roof.
