I think it looks like a very classy color.
Best to see it in person though.
The Silver interior color looks great as well, more a nice gray tone than silver.

Here's mine, same spot, same time, one facing the setting sun, then with the sun.

What an amazing colour.

I think I have everyone's answer. I recall reading an article about Estoril Blue II being reintroduced. BMW stated that it had to discontinue the color due to certain environmental composition issues and once reengineered and approved by the European environmental safety board they added the II. A pretty simple explanation and kind of interesting. I'm not 100% on this but it makes sense.

I saw an E39 M5 in the original Silverstone. Way more blue than SSII. SSII is what I'd order on the new M3/4.

Here are a few of my last one. Awesome color...if silver w/a hint of blue is your thing.

Oldie, but a goodie?

SSII looks blue in pictures so often because... the sky is blue. I see no blue in it at all when looking at my car in my garage, and I've seen it looking almost gold when reflecting a sunset.

Great color.

Its the only m only color I believe. Jerez, estoril, Laguna seca, and all others have appeared on non m cars. It simply adds special factor to a special car with a one off special engine. Talk about collectors car. At least to me

Anyone have a list of all the M-specific colors?

I think Interlagos is one as well.

I'm hopeful too, really not a fan of the blue-ish hue . :-(
