Having M3s start in Servotronic Sport mode available so I don't have to push the M button to get it -- can't understand why BMW doesn't allow this!! Ideally I'd like to preserve a way to access Normal mode (maybe it can start up in Sport but if you go into M Drive and back out, it's Normal?)
I should be able to set the start/stop to remember its last position. As far as the steering being on sport when you start, I have to check into that. It might be controlled by the DME. I'll look into it

  • DVD in motion
  • Disable iDrive accept message
  • Disable iDrive fasten belts warning
  • Rolling windows up with key
  • Allow windows to roll up with door interruption
  • Euro corner delete
  • Welcome lights (instant on angel eyes)
  • Turn off annoying key in ignition gong

The seatbelt and key in ignition chimes drove me crazy, and I couldn't ever find anyone else who could do the euro corner delete (turning off the amber LED while headlights are on). I'm happy with Mike's work and highly recommend.
Thanks for the insight! I haven't heard of one unhappy customer yet.

Mike,

For the Folding mirrors coding, do i need the premium package or is this possible with all models regardless of options?

If your car has folding mirrors from the factory, then it's possible. If it didn't come with then, I should be able to retrofit the folding function provided that the mirror has motors and is wired properly to the car .

Just in case you're getting too excited, Mike just means he can enable folding functionality if you've purchased the mirrors that are capable of folding. If you didn't order them from the factory, you'd have to buy them first (and they ain't cheap). You can't take mirrors that don't fold and magically have them fold with a little coding.

Haven't had a chance to try it yet. I will work on it this weekend. I have to remember not to fill my tank all the way!

Yes, if there are a number of people interested in your area, I can send out a laptop and perform the coding remotely.

Couple new updates: Working on BMWOnline - almost got it working on my M3.

Not sure exactly what it does but will find out.

Also, conquered the fuel warning coming on too early. I can change the low fuel warning to come on at later intervals so it doesn't start bugging you near 1/4 tank. Can also turn it off all together.

Edit: Looking for a car with Start/Stop feature. If your car has it, and you are local - please let me know. I am working on retrofitting that feature to cars not equipped, and activating memory so it remembers the last setting used.

Hey Mike,

I'd be careful with this; I believe the 2011.5 M3s have a different (larger) starter and alternator for the increased duty cycle that auto start/stop entails. You might end up with some unhappy customers if you enable that feature and their cars die early in a way that isn't covered by BMW....

Interesting - didn't know that. Still worth finding out how the coding works to give cars equipped with it the option to remember. In most countries out side of the US, the start stop function is automatically enabled when you start the car. Most of those people want it disabled

Well having it default to ON especially on an M3 would be ridiculous. However, I think starting up in last state is perfectly reasonable for people whose last drive was to work in commute traffic and now have to drive back home through commute traffic and might want to keep the feature on for those trips without having to press a button every time. Plus it's one less light in the center console lit up to tell you something is off.

Great I will try to get some attention in the local forum. I knew a couple of guys who has the m3 will want the DVD features at least.
Also, I have the stop start feature. too bad not local.

I have one scheduled about three weeks out, but would certainly like to have one sooner. I have time toward the end of the week usually. Let me know if you have some time.

Thanks,
Mike

genetalia: it comes on when the 335's comes on, a little bit lower now. I forget which setting I used but it was the same as my friends 335.
