using your photos as an advertisement for their products for profit. I'm not going to name names, but I'm pissed the f___ off.

edit, they even manipulated my photo to try to "hide" the fact that they did steal it. the photo they used did even have the product they are selling...

discuss.

In my trade it happens occasionally. When it does S**T goes down. If the person continues to use the photo without permission after the first warning, the lawyer is called.

The time was taken to cleverly blur out parts and change around the image. But it is clear as day, that the image in use was mine. I've had the same thing happen with me. Vendor used my picture on his website and business card. Figured something with that amount of exposure, the dude would at least ask...

happened to me too, i sent a similar email to the vendor.

They never want to pay up, so the photo just gets taken down.

it's happened to me many times.. and on ebay.. where it's really difficult to get everyone to stop using my images because of a million chinese replica retailers under different names LOL.. I gave up after a while.. I just hate it when my stuff is authentic but it's used to sell a replica

but they always stop when you send them a friendly reminder.. I've never had someone not comply.

of course I've never made a dime off my pics and have no interest in that so your feelings and situation may be more acute than mine.

I would send them a letter asking for my watermark to be displayed and for credit to be given to me or I would send them a cease and desist if I wanted it taken down entirely. There are some good threads about this on a few of the big photography forums.

I had something kinda like this happen when I got my KW's installed and they used my after pic on their website to sell DINAN goods....without asking me and without me having a single DINAN piece on my car....I was like WTF....but they are a smallish shop and were pretty cool in person so I figured no blood, no foul...but in your case I think you did the right thing.....
