I had my car in last week and they did some update. My ipod wont work at all right now. I will be dropping off the car sometime next week. Usually the ipod is the least of my worries but sometimes its the little things that the car offers when you are on a long cruse that you take for granted. I will keep you updated when they figure out what the problem is with the damn thing.

How long does the update usually take? I'm getting it done tomorrow and I was told I would be given a loaner.

My 2010 car which I took delivery in 12/09 and hadn't had any updates since delivery when first hooked up to the computer said the download would take 4 hours. 5 hours later the dealer called and said my car would have to stay hooked up to the dealers computer overnight. When they opened in the am, the download was complete.

Since your car is a 2011, maybe it will only take a few hours.

You know what. I had mine done a week ago and I did notice smoother starts but attributed that to the warmer weather lately. Yesterday and today I started the car in 35F and had a smooth run. I think you guys are correct. It's very noticeable too not subtle.

I got it a couple of months ago and noticed the cold start improvement, minor nav & ipod changes, also I got a flat yesterday and the tire pressure indicator is now different on the idrive screen. It tells you to pull over and tells you which tire.

The latest iDrive update is defective... ISTA/P is coding all iDrive CIC (2009-on) as if they were connected to the Combox (2011.5-on). So the iPod/USB and the Bluetooth interfaces will be trying to communicate with a Combox that simply is not installed.

However, other than those particular features the rest of the iDrive latest updates are still there. At least they are in my CIC.
