M3 Build advice and other questions

I am ordering a M3 tomorrow and any input on options I should or shouldn't add would be great.

I've added every package except for the winter package and the Comp package. My thought are I'd use the stock 18's for winter tires and get some aftermarket 19's to put on the car.

What is the best tire size to go with 19's?

I'm in between Space Grey and White, any input (i know this is largely based on preference but any input would be great)

Thanks in advance.

So you are not getting the ZCP? I would get it if I were ordering one.

and as for the color, honestly AW is the best color for M3s. (specially for the coupe with carbon fiber)

Have you considered Mineral White as well? I like the subtle flake it has compared to Alpine White.

The ZCP consists of the 19 inch wheels and EDC correct? I opted for the EDC, but decided that since I would be getting different 19 inch wheels preferably black that it would be better to not opt for the ZCP.

Make sure you get the new 6NR package which allows you to use iphone applications directly through your idrive system.

I would also STRONGLY consider the competition package if i were you. Winter package is entirely up to you - I personally prefer not to have the little squirter guys on my front bumper.

Carbon fiber roof !

A few other suggestions - Premium Sound + Rear Sunshade + Heated Seats (get these !!)

Thanks for your input. If I get the EDC separately and am getting some 20 inch DPE's would it still make sense to get the comp package? Is there anything else in there besides the EDC and 19 inch wheels?

Also what is the 6NR package on the website, I cannot find it.

6NR is referred to as BMW Apps on the web site. Seconded that you should definitely add this.

Here's what comes with ZCP (aka Competition Package):
  • 19x9f, 19x10r Style 359M wheels (half inch wider f/r than Style 220Ms)
  • Revised springs and struts/shocks that sit 10mm lower than stock
  • Remapped Sport setting for EDC that makes the reboud rate dynamic (it's static on regular EDC)
  • Remapped MDM for DSC that allows for a bit more wheel slip when compared to regular MDM

I just made the MW / AW decision ordering this weekend. Leading up to ordering I was set on MW, but as time went on I started realizing how I was becoming less into the MW. Totally IMO, but I think the AW suits a sportier car like the M better. The MW comes off more as a lexus Pearl type color.

Of course it's completely up to you and your likes, but this thread is definitely helpful
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...=mineral+white

Lastly, the AW is obviously a common choice, so if you're looking to stand out, go with the MW. All about personal preference.

Agreed that something like color choice is completely subjective, but MW is less pearlescant and more metallic. Brilliant White is the pearl white in BMW's lineup.

Alright guys,

I think I am going to go with a Sedan (car has business use) and doing the Space Gray (imo classy but still sporty) Any input? Also, I'm in between doing the interior fox red/black or palladium silver/black, any input?

I'll also be doing the DPE SP-SC16's..
