I don't think it can be done.....I had a delete all memory keys function on my 650i but I haven't found this on the ///M3.............Phil

A) what is the traffic map everyone keeps talking about
B) where is the setting for night vs day mode on the map (or is it only on the 2011s since that's what most ppl have who are posting on this thread)?

Solved the mystery. As UK cars have sat nav & FM/AM built into the idrive as std the 2 buttons assigned in the US to AM/FM and mode are designated 7 and and 8 and are programmable

a) while in the map. press option button, under map click on settings, check off traffic conditions grey map

haha, yea my handle is spelled wrong but its a handle i started back in like 1995 when i signed up with AIM, the handle stuck and is on every forum i'm on. last year no time for track events but this year i want to get in a few weekends. summer 09 was that last time. great bike btw, minimal problems. i think i have ~8500 miles.

Nice! Too bad that you're not in So.Cal. We track our Ducs quite a bit out here. I have about 4500 miles on my 2010 (..with more than half being track miles), and no problems at all. It's a solid bike!

wtf? cant this feature to work for the life of me. so i highlight the screen i want to shortcut and hold down one of the keys, i keep getting the "you cannot program this feature? what gives? do the my08's only allow you to program the features listed in the manual? ie nav places and numbers? i wanted to do tps, oil level, monitor off, ect...

Because you can't program whatever you're trying to program . It's basically phone numbers, nav addresses, radio/sat stations, and stereo sources (CD slot, USB, AM presets, FM presets, etc). I've tried to program several functions, like the DRL on/off one, and I get the same message.

***just a side note, some features need to be assigned in full screen not split screen mode...


also: just rearranged mine a bit:
1:Night Mode
2: Split Screen
3: USB/Ipod
4: CD/DVD (now that I have video in motion coded and working)
5: Vehicle Info
6: Idrive off

I was using "Map" as a dedicated button, but I can just use the "Nav" key on the center console by the idrive knob for that...

yeah thats exactly what i read in the owners manual. but how are other people doing other features like, oil level and tps? is it just another i get bamboolzed for having an my08 thing?

Perhaps it is limited to the newer idrive...I never used this feature in my '08 so I couldn't tell you, just that in my '11, "TPMS", "oil level", "display off" etc. do work. Hopefully some more '08 owners can chime in.
