Not sure - maybe this year for a couple of days as a lay over. At first I thought it was a joke, but the car did look different and sounded different. I looked it up and sure enough a few were made. V12 if I remember correctly.

Actually, the reason I said that was because I know the m3 is quicker than the R8 in a straight line match up...but based on laptimes the R8 is quicker..by a few second here and there

Never driven a ZR1, but have had the chance to drive around 1000kms in an 08 GT2 and all I can say it is beast. I would probably take a GT3 RS for the money though.

I've driven both, the GT3 RS is an Incredible track weapon, a little tough on the street. The GT2 has a few more creature comforts, more power, and even more if needed with a chip and intercoolers (600 hp give or take 20 ). Plus it can be upgraded with the aero bits off the GT2 RS, so it will feel very close to the GT3 RS.
Used GT3 RS currently sells for around $170k GT2's are less. Plus rumor has it that there is another variant of the GT3 RS scheduled to be announced this year, a limited edition 500 units with the 4.0 litre motor and 500 hp. That would be the one to buy, except for the fact that it will cost about 220k.

V10 is special, especially with an aftermarket exhaust.
