Gloss Black or AW Paint matched side gills....

just installed AW side gills, but thinking I should do gloss black. I already have the OEM M3 edition front kidney grills on, I've been told the M3 edtiion side gills won't fit the E90 M3, only e92/3'a. Anyone have AW with gloss black side gills? would gloss black look "off" from my kidney grills. I was thinking gloss would at lease match the gloss trim..hmmm

here's a pic of my current set-up....

1. E90, 92, 93 uses exact same side grilles. So you can use Edition grills if you want.
2. I have gloss black on my E90. Main reasons I chose gloss black are:
a. matches gloss black outer trims include side mirror.
b. M3 label on the side grill has gloss black background so I wanted to match better.
c. Match with my gloss front grills better too.

But looking at yours, I kinda like color matched one as well. More luxurious look than black.

pull the wheel well and remove it from behind if you're squeamish about taking a small screw driver to the edge of the fender vent.....

or just find a body shop to the above also....

IMHO color matched works for the e90 gill design. Black gets lost in the rest of the black plastic. On the e92/93 I like gloss black or M3 Edition Black.

I think the AW makes it stand out more. I've contemplated these.

Only thing i would do differently with AW would be to tint the side marker. That really sets it off nicely IMHO.

Agree w/ Gene. I used the small screwdriver wrapped in electrical tape. I was concerned about damaging the paint and it did take some elbow grease but got it done with no damage to the paint!

I have color matched as well. On the e92 against the white car I would go gloss black, but on the e90 with the black mesh, I like the white blade a lot better than a big black hole!

I was thinking exact same thing.
With white surrounding E92, I think gloss black looks better with nice contrast and matte honey comb style surrounding of E90, color matched white make it nice contrast.

OEM carbon splitters are in the trunk, too busy right now to book a day for install! Thinking about the RPI scoops in black. Are they a DIY or do I need someone to do it? I know Trinity did yours...

scoops are an easy DIY, the new design does not require any screws to anchor either...put your order in now tho, I heard they are back ordered a bit....I think red would pop nicely behind those grills of yours tho.....

Nice, it looks good! Front OEM carbon splitters would complete the look so looking forward to seeing them installed.
