Not much, you're looking at approx ~8lb difference.

That's it? Because I know the seats alone-
Rpp are about 18 and the sportsters are 33, I know the sportsters don't use the side mount but I didNt realize it was only 8lbs, not bad Sportster make more sense then |

The Sportsters do not require a side mount as these are already built into the seat (steel mounts are heavy), which accounts for most of the difference. We are an authorized Recaro retailer, let me know if you have any questions.

you don´t have to use steel side mounts... you can use aluminium thus maximising wheight gains with the PP... however if you need the backseats the CS is obviously the way to go...
By the way Tom... is it possible to get a CS seat covered in the oem Bamboo Beige leather? |

The sportsters aren't? So does that mean I can't use the seats on the track? I don't track yet but plan on starting this year, any info is good

As well as the side mounts, aluminum are not FIA cert - only steel versions from Recaro.

Fixed back shells are best suited for track use. The Sporster CS seats are the same as the BMW performance seats (sans airbags), and better suited for everyday driving.

if you need back seats then go for the CS... with recaro PPs, the back seat will be almost impossible to get into.

I don't have an exact answer but it has to be at least 20 lbs. Tom said the Sportster CS is 33 pounds with brackets and the OEM is probably 60+ lbs. The E46 seats were 65 lbs with power, heat, and memory.

Recaro CS with bases, sliders and seat belt receiver are 39lbs each. I just threw mine on the scale.
...and they just happen to be for sale here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=780970 (shameless plug) -M |

Do the sportster cs' provide more lateral support over OEM? I want lighter, more supportive seats for the track but I need to be able to add remove a child seat in the back when I'm not at the track. Any advice?

I found them to be a big improvement over the OEM seats, I'd probably attribute some of that to the Alcantara as well. Brief moments on the track of wanting more lateral support on very tight corners but otherwise no complaints.

Hi everyone , quick question for anyone who knows. Do you know where I can get the seat railings for the recaro sportster cs to fit in the e92 m3? I've had these seats for about 2 months now and can't seem to locate these dam items so I'm stuck with the seats still in the boxes and not where it should be, in my car.

7+ years thread revival: is the Recaro PP way better in terms of lateral support than CS? I got an e90 that is mostly daily driven (more so 2nd car than daily) but some track days. I want to change my seats. I'm about 5'9 175-80 lbs tops and pretty fit. Which one would y'all recommend? I also want to retain may seat heating functionality. Should I look in other brands? Thank you
