Paddy, are these still working for you? Are your wheels satin black or anthracite? Thanks.

Paddy was kind enough to let me use his setup from my upcoming trackevent at Laguna Seca He helped me put them on last weekend, no rubbing so far but have not driven them hard so comments on handling.

I'd like to know your impressions of the Vred's at the track too. The PS2's got greasy on me and I almost went off once they got hot.
I've got my first event on them with the CCA later this month.

They handled real well, much better than the PS2s. I think the stiffer sidewall made a big difference. For the price they're a great cross purpose tire, good for track, autox and daily driving (awesome in the wet).
There are probably better track tires out there but these are perfect for me right now. I've had them on since january, did streets of willow, buttonwillow and 4 days of autox and there's still plenty of thread for Jeff to burn at Laguna Seca.
I got a lot of compliments on the look too.

I am happy those tires are working out well for you. I have ran Vredestein Sessantas on my car for the last 2 years and could not be happier. They have a nice balance of grip, quietness and tread wear and for the price they are hard to beat.

Thanks for the update.
The only real competition that's maybe a llittle cheaper would be the Hankook Ventus V12's. Someone here mentioned they (V12's) chuncked a little at the track along the center strip.

Can't speak for the V12's but the PS2s chunked on me big time at Buttonwillow last september. The Vreds were fine after my recent visit. There were also a few gashes in the sidewalls of the PS2s, no idea how they got there 'cos I didn't hit anything except the burms.

It looks very good. They were on a dark blue E46 M3. Sorry, I didn't take any pictures.

Aha , I see you have the go-pre attached. Front wheel looks a little funky in those photos, might be just the angle though. G luck at Laguna S.

I got down to 1:37 lap time on Need For Speed Shift PS3, pity I can't make the real event.

Though on second look, half your screen is used up just on the car and the reflection is distracting. Not a good angle for track. I'd try something around the front bumper or on the roof, looking down.

Hi, Just wanted to add my experience. I ran 3 track days on my stock 18" rims with PS2's and I liked the tires on the street but found them to understear more than expected on the track and as noted above get greasy when hot.

Put the Vred Sessantas on about 3 months ago and they are great on the street. Stiffer sidewall is noticable as you hit small bumps or creases in the road but not bad at all. Then went to a track day at carolina motorsports park on Saturday. The things are much better than the PS2s. Much less understeer and handle the temperature well even when driven quite hard. No chunking and wearing well. Highly recommend.

Less understeer, with all other things being equal, usually means less overall grip. But if the balance is better it can be a lot less frustrating and easier to drive quickly when the car doesn't want to push. I don't doubt that they handle heat better and have stiffer sidewalls but I suspect the Vreds probably don't pull quite as much lateral G. But if the PS2's won't do more than a few good laps before going off or chunking, it's definitely not worth the extra grip!

I wonder if this square setup will rub with the new competition package that lowers the car by 5mm?

Why would they? The wheels travel through the same points as the suspension moves up and down whether the suspension is regular or ZCP. The only possibility for rubbing would be if the ZCP bump stops allowed additional travel up into the wheel well which I don't believe is the case.

They wouldn't rub even if you had coilovers and lowered the car. (unless you excessively lowered the car)
