It will go up since I got my M3 and I almost always get my gas from Shell

I've gone through 3 tanks of gas already. Numbers not on top of my head but first is 15, second is 18, and the last one is 14mpg.

lucky you we pay £1.43 for bog standard 95 and probably more since I last filled up and the pipelines come ashore just up the road.

Because clearly there's no risk or capital investment required to find, refine and sell a bajillion gallons of oil/fuel.

Solution: Buy stocks of oil companies. Chances are, the extra profit you may make on their huge profit will exceed the extra amount of money you pay for gas. (Depending on how much you invest, of course.) Nice way to hedge.

side note: if you're in Houston, TX the shell station in Chinatown has a discount for the premium stuff

Blame part of that price on your government which,like so many governments,taxes the hell out of petrol.Here we pay about $3.25 a gallon,which (I think) means that you pay about twice as much as do we.

Another factor....I've been to China twice in my life.Once 30 years ago and once last November.Guangzhou both times (major city not far from Hong Kong).Thirty years ago...bicycles.That's it.Bicycles wherever you looked and *no* cars.Last November...traffic jams.And no bicycles! So now a billion Chinese are competing for a finite supply of oil whereas the West had that supply all to itself back then.

Oh,and don't forget OPEC...they're laughing all the way to the bank.

well in europe it about 50% of the price of gas is tax. This is due to the gov't encouraging people to use the public transportation system.

Disclosure: I do own stock in oil companies...

I am trying this tonight when i fill up! I wondered what that Ralphs option was i thought it was a special credit card (rewards card)

you need your actual ralph's club acc number, not your phone number..at least that's what i used...

you can get it if you register on ralph's.com...just use your phone number to register the acc...then when you go into your acc info, it'll show the actual card # and not your phone #
