Dublin,

Do you have a record of how many miles your customers of current VT supercharger kits have racked up on them? I am curious if we have any SC M3 owners that have the kit on the car for 40K miles+.

Like most here, I am looking to push some extra power out of my M, and the N/A mods are nice, but only getting 40-50whp max with a considerable investment can be hard to swallow. I am not planning to tracking my car every weekend, perhaps once or twice, but I could use a bit more torque and power, in the most reliable F/I way.

I would suppose my main question is that can I have the VTI-535 for 50K+ miles as a daily driver? Do we have any owners on this board that have hit that mileage with a ESS kit?

Thanks
150k + miles would not be a problem as long as you did proper maintenance on the car. We have customers running 50k + miles on the E9X M3 VT kits currently without any issues. Our car here in AZ used for testing has 30k + miles of very hard testing and has been running perfect. We have many cars well over 100k miles that run our other BMW supercharger systems without issues. As long as you keep things safe and take care of your engine you can have normal engine life with FI.

The figure quoted of 535 hp, is that with a stock exhaust? With say an Akro full system do you modify the software to suit? And if so what ballpark figure is achievable with the VT1?

one question regarding hp increase in combination with other mods - since I have hfc's/xpipe and an exhaust - will I get 110hp increase on top of what I have currently or just over stock? I would assume a free flowing exhaust would bump the hp above the advertised 535 correct?

Thx,
BC

I gained app 40 whp going from stock midpipes to catless midpipe on my VT-625 kit, so you will probably increase your hp with your hfc´s x-pipe also

Depends on what your car makes before the kit is installed. The VT1-535 is rated to add 30% more power to the M3. We rate all of our power based on the car being 100% stock. Running high flow / catless exhaust systems with our kits will add to the power gained.

Love the power gains (I'm considering the 535 kit maybe in a few months) however, is that stock number (~320) correct? That would be ~22% drivetrain loss? Just curious.

To make sure I understand - if my car is making say 440hp because of hfc's/exhaust, then with the VT1 it would go to something approaching 572hp?

Thx,

I like the fact the VT1 kits are fully upgradeable to VT2 kits. Could always step it up if you get "bored" with the 535 kit With a full Akra Evo system and 93 Octane this kit should put down some serious power though. This is so tempting.......

3) i have never experienced any issues with my kit.
4) I personally would recommend getting a inter cooled kit ( power is more efficient & keeps temps down )
5) The difference in the ESS staged kits are Software, injectors , intercooler & pulley/boost .
6) I get my oil changes and services as i would with out the blower with out any problems ( I've went to 4 different dealer's with out any problems whatsoever )
7) They won't void your warranty just because they see a blower now if you came across a problem due to the blower that's a different story .......
8) Choose the Kit/company that best suits your needs "" Peaceful""
9) BBK is not really needed if your a spirited driver , now if you have a heavy foot then yeah get BBK ( although it's smart if you equally upgrade all levels on the car Power/Brakes/Suspension )
10) you said it yourself their is not one unhappy ESS SC'r owner ( problem free and that's with 150+ kits sold )

Good Luck on your Purchase
ESS FTW

that's exactly why i did the VT1... for now.

with my track record, i'll eventually get bored and want more power.

ESS definitely have great kits, but personally, I'd be scared without cooling... even though its been proven to be great without cooling.

good luck on your choice.

Roman...curious about this as well. Is it significantly more costly to upgrade from a 535 kit to 575 or 600 or is the cost about the same as the difference in the price of the kits themselves?
