Merc of Alexandria

In addition to my M3, I have a Benz GL Bluetec. For those who do not know, Bluetec is the clean diesel. Anyway, I took the truck to the dealer because a CEL came on. No problem, there was an service bulletin for a software update, no big deal. I get a phone call this morning that I need to add Adblue, the additive that makes the diesel clean, and that the charge would be $200. I changed my own oil, filter, fuel filter and added Adblue 2 months ago, which should last 10,000 miles. I told the SA that unless there was a leak then that was not possible, do not do anything and I would take care of it. He became short tempered with me. When I picked up the car there was no message on the computer that said Adblue was needed, basically this guy was trying to sucker me into agreeing on a $200 charge that was not needed. I hate shit like this and I will probably get an X5 diesel when I turn this car in. BMW dealers may be a PITA sometimes but at least all the service is included. Sorry for the rant just had to tell someone.

Is this at American service center? My old SA at BMW fairfax went there. He was real cool with everything and wouldn't bs you. Donald Marsh if you end up going!

ASC is, in my opinion, better than the other MB dealers. I used to take my SL there and they would get the work done unlike the HBL in tysons..

Did you put the Gintani catless xpipe on the GL? Lol that would give you CEL!

I have been going to ASC for the past 10+ years great service!
