Taking inspiration from BMW's M3 GTS, the Challenge lip spoiler is designed to be a functional piece while adding a more aggressive look to the car. The aerodynamically tested lip increases front end downforce, enabling better high speed stability and handling.

Unlike most other carbon offerings which are manufactured overseas, Challenge's 100% full carbon fiber lip spoiler is made in Challenge's facility that also manufactures carbon fiber parts for IndyCar, Lemans, Speed World Challenge and the Rolex Series race cars right here in the US. When making parts for race cars only the absolute highest quality materials and manufacturing techniques are used, and Challenge delivers the same standard of quality when making parts for the street.

I highlighted the interesting parts in red.

Can you or Challenge please chime on with more detailed info re the "increases front end downforce" bit? If this lip is actually wind tunnel tested to reduce front axle lift (doubt it produces downforce) I will buy it today!

The design was created obviously taking cues from the M3 GTS front lip that has a proven design and purpose, which is similar in design to ours. Beyond that, we consulted with a few of the motorsports engineers and race teams on the design. With their imput combined with where we wanted to go with it, this lip was born as you now see it. It was not wind tunnel tested, nor are any others for the M3 that i can think of, except some OEM parts.

The GTS lip opts to not block the front surface area of the wheels well. We chose to block this area and possible area that would generate lift. As always, and in the article you posted, downforce does come at the expense of some drag.

Not many people have the acess or budget for wind tunnel full scale testing as you can immagine. Like most of the race teams and parts designers out there, we try to stick to following most of the rules of thumb and end up with a great and functional product at a price people can afford to swallow.

Hope ive answered your questions. Feel free to PM me any follow ups if needed.

Challenge GT Carbon Rear Diffuser

Just when we thought the GT Front lip was impressive, here's what arrived on Friday:

The X-pipes are already well known as an awesome upgrade from the OEM pipe, but the diffuser is what really caught our eye.

No cut fiberglass or wet lay here, this diffuser is constructed from 100% Dry fibre construction as seen on the GT Front lip spoiler - making it unbelievably strong and ultra-featherweight. Fibre weave is even with a buffed clearcoat for maximum shine.

Some closeup shots:

Sorry guys, this was snatched up less than 30 minutes of opening the box. However, more are arriving soon - locals feel free to drop by and see it in person.

Residue removal/surface prepping for new Challenge Lip installation, removing all trapped wax buildup

Removing 3M tape and pressing into place, fastening bolts down for additional stability

The newly finished M3 was then picked up by Howie late afternoon on his way to batting practice. Needless to say, he was very impressed with the new look and will be returning for more mods very soon.
