Remap
Hi Guys
Just had my gearbox software wiped by BMW dealer last week when they put a new a clutch and latest DCT software, car drives much better now and has latest BMW software. so next step is the remap, what are the expected gains? anyone else had there car remapped and by whom? |

Hello mate I had new software done at dealers two weeks ago and I agree it so much better but can I ask what milage is your car and how come it needed a new clutch?

I didn't think the DCT clutches were a dealer replacement item.
AIUI the DCT would be replaced as a complete wet filled item and the faulty one would be returned to Getrag. |

Yes, the DCT has two clutches sin the bowls of the gearbox, I doubt they were replaced by a dealer.

Check out Evolve's website for full details but expected gains are 10-15bhp and mainly these are in the higher RPMs.
I had mine remapped in conjunction with upgrading the front and centre exhaust sections to make the most of the reduction in back pressure and restore the lost low RPM torque that is a consequence of removing the front cats. IMO, I don't see much value in solely adding power up the RPM range as the car is fast enough. Adding torque (from exhaust upgrade) throughout rev range and below 3> RPM plus more power everywhere was my aim. |
