Is there an alternative to the brushed aluminum trim?

I asked my body shop about painting them, and because they are aluminum, it may not stick. Vinyl seems to be the most common solution. Try this: http://www.bmwshadowline.com/index.html

r u trying to get another type of oem trim like the carbon leather, wood, or titanium trim?? cuz u could post a WTB/WTT thread and see if someone wants to get rid of theirs...
