Light CF hood

I'd like to upgrade my M3 hood to CF version. I mean completely CF/kevlar, no visual mods with CF layers glued on OEM hood.

What's the lightest version available? Or "best" as your personal opinion and suggestion? Losing weight is the key factor in my project.

I'd prefer simple OEM look if possible, no need for extra vents. Vorsteiner is one solution with vents, Ericsson also, but price should be below 3000 USD.

Even a very light race-version is in my mind if someone is making it..?

Challenge Race trunk is fine, I'll order it, but hood is still unclear.

The factory hood is aluminum so there is not much weight to be shaved going to a CF piece. The main advantage to a vented CF race hood is better ventilation for high heat or track settings and the visual improvement.

I don't recommend cheaping out on CF products though. You are considering top notch brands- Ericsson, Challenge and Vorsteiner. You risk a serious sacrifice in quality by going with cheaper wet lay products.

It's actually not...the VRS hood has been tested to reduce ambient engine temperature at the track. This was measured before and after via Oil and Water Temp.

I'd also invite you to drive a car with this hood on the track or in high heat conditions, you will see heat waves escaping the two front vents.
