I notice the engine runs smoother. That is it. I doubt it is possible to detect a 6 or 7 hp difference. I think the smoother running engine is worth the money, personally. The upgrade did not physically change the redline, but I was assured that electronically the redline is modified.

I have a 6MT coupe. To add to my comment above, the engine feels smoother specifically during clutch work.

I have had the Dinan software since month one of owning my car and I agree that the car runs much smoother. The BMW dealer recently did a BMW software upgrade on my car and needs to reinstall the Dinan update. They tell me that it's still not available from Dinan yet. Anyone know about that? Why it's not available from Dinan? Anyway, I definitely notice the rougher shifts since the BMW update. Hopefully that will be solved with the new Dinan software.

I've had mine around 20-months with no issues at all. My only other mods are the 4.10FD ratio and an Active Autowerkes exhaust on my 6MT. Particularly with the 4.10, the extra 200-rpm come in handy.
