If BMW would make this an option in the standard ordering process (like iPod, or heated seats etc.) so you only pay for the difference between the standard exhaust and this one, they would have *many* takers.

The stock OEM M3 exhaust must retail at least $2500, so this could be a $2k option. I personally would have checked it.

Fortunately for all the aftermarket tuners, BMW hasn't been able to do this type of marketing gymnastics very well.
