You have great taste in cars my friend.

I keep my 2011 M, most likely we will be buying the new 5 series GT in April and do ED again.

I satisfied with the M so I get the new model when I comes out in 2014 but keep my 2011.

Good luck.

Driving that GT 2 was just plain f'ng nuts, I can't get over it.
Re: "need it to do everything," that's why I wound up with another M3. When the 2008 M3's lease was nearing its end, went & looked at a new 911 Carrera w/ PDK, loved it, but decided that I couldn't drive it everywhere, so got a 2011 M3 E90.

Cayman S is one of the baddest driving machines you can buy at any price is what hear. Obviously you're a Porsche guy already.

But a Cayman S with GT2 power would be even badder.

Cheers.

Apparently your dreams have come true, because Porsche is showing a Tuned-Up Cayman R, at the Los Angeles Auto Show today.

Porsche did not go for the name that they mentioned a few months back. It was supposed to be called the Cayman Clubsport.

I guess the R sounds a lot meaner.

IMO this is the car to get if you want a fast DD and a competitive weekend warrior at the same time!

I almost bought a Cayman, but the M3 is the best car for the money for what it does (414 HP, 4 seats, handles great, and what a screamer.)

Get a Z06 and mod it to your liking. That car will kill you in a heartbeat too

edit: Forgot you needed a backseat... Get the M3 and don't look back. (maybe a Cadillac CTS-V might be worth at least test driving as well)

i just got out of a 2008 Cayman S. Best friggin car I have ever driven both street and track. I needed more space and my new E90 M3 is almost, almost a Cayman S with extra doors. I love my M3 but I miss my Cayman.

I have never driven a Cayman S, but have gone against them on the track when I had my GT3. They are fast, no doubt. That car (and driver!) gained my respect. I was pretty suprised how capable the Cayman S was.........

Do I miss my Porsche? Yes and no. It was totally useless, unless I was tracking it. When I tracked it (and I did a LOT the first couple of years), it was pure bliss.

However, the M3 is a great car for what I need now....back seats, 4-doors, etc. I think it, and the C63, are the two best "sport sedans" one can buy. If you need the room, I would stay in the M, or go for a C63 if you have the "new car bug".

Yup! I couldn't have said it any better myself.

In stock form, the Cayman S is very fast on the track with a driver that has a lot of seat time.

Wait til you put that same driver in a Cayman R. That is another story...
