The sensors are (finally) in for the pre-2010 models. Shipment was delayed from Germany and we were caught short for a few weeks.

Sensors came in for the new models too, but only enough to fill some of our older backorders. More in transit, hitting Indiana next week according to the estimates.

1750 or so, depending on which sensors you need and where the shipment goes (more outside the continental U.S.) That is for PA2 and the Sport Edition A7 referenced at the beginning of the thread.

PA2 is a good tire, but you might consider the PA3, which is available in that size for the same money.

My e92 is from 2008 so it looks like you have the sensors available now.

I will have to read about the PA3 vs. PA2 to better understand.

A few more questions:
- any other options than the Sport Edition A7s for this set-up? (I guess the OEM 18"do not work.... right?)
- do the BMW center caps fit in the A7s?

Lastly, I also got interested in the "All season" options you described when answering the "marshmallowy" ride question.... I will look into this because I am not planning on driving in deep snow... it is just that I can't use the PS2s in cold weather.

i put 18s all around, however the rear look like they need spacers. is there a particular size spacer to push the rears out similar to my 19 stock wheels?

There is no reason you can't use the OEM 18s but a 235 will be too narrow for the rears. The A7s are a great choice for winter duty, IMO.

TR does have caps that fit. I keep forgetting to order them for mine. Ben can hook you up.

If you will never actually drive on snow you can probably get by with all-seasons but you'll have to be much more mindful of ice. FWIW, the only real snow I drive in is on the street in my village (they only plow main roads here) and I still went with Wintersport 3Ds. They're quite good even now and we haven't had our first snowfall yet.

If I was buying those wheels I'd use 255/40-18 tires. You're in Maryland, so the slightly wider tires aren't likely to affect your snow traction significantly and will improve your cold weather traction the other 98% of the time.

The ws60s seem to be overkill for your area of the country. There seems to be a wide selection of appropriate winter tires in 255/40. I'd go with the PA2, but only because I've been happy with them the last 4 winters in Minnesota, lake effect NY and Pennsylvania. If you were in Canada or the mountains, then I would recommend ws60s.

Tire manufacturers recommend the 255/35R19 to fit from 8.5"-10". So yes, it fits, there is no safety hazard, and the tire will perform as intended by the manufacturer.

It definitely will look a bit stretched (not like VW tuner stretched, but the tire is about 10" wide in it's normal state, and the wheel is 10" wide at the bead seat, and more like 11" wide flange to flange.

Im going to run stock 18s as winter wheels and I'm trying to decide on a tire. First I can't decide whether to put the same size tires on front and rear or to stick with the sock staggered sizes. Second is whether to get performance winter tires or ice/snow tires. I'll b daily driving it just north of Boston. What are your thoughts?

Very similar. Blizzak a little more snow traction, Dunlop a little sportier handling, but they are quite similar.

Offset and width are not enough to determine brake clearance. Spoke design plays a major role. More reliable is to talk to the vendor of the wheel, and see if they can confirm it fits the M3.

Square (all 4 front size) works better in more serious winter weather. Staggered gives better performance and handling on clear roads.

Same choices apply on ice/snow and performance winter.

If you want an ice/snow tire, our only choice is square setup.

If you go performance winter, you can go either way.

Basically, get the best snow traction you can with handling that you can live with.

Rhetorical questions: Do you have situations where you MUST drive, and must use the M3, no matter how awful the weather (ie doctor on call)? If so, you get the ice/snow tire.

Are you more likely to be a) raging with frustration b/c your handling is not sporty enough or b) freaking out because you're sliding down a steep winding road that is iced over?

Is this your only vehicle, or do you have another car to drive if the weather is truly nasty?
