Gotta love those that let 0-60 times determine whether or not they're gonna buy a car.

Better power to weight ratio than 991S
South was generous, probably about 180kg less weight.
Significantly less drivetrain loss, maybe 7% less comapring to quattro
Less parasitic losses like the alternator
Better weight distribution
Better handling.

Gee, you gotta love those people who pass a judgement on someone based only from a few sentences from ONE post. You pull the same stunt, based your decision on one factor, except you only do it to your fellow human being. It is a little hypocritical, no?

0-60 figure is a significant factor on a sports coupe, but it is not the only factor. Will you buy a 65-70k M3 with 0-60 in 9s but handles like a S2k? Is 0-60mph still irrelevent at that point? Besides, I dont need to justify my decision to you.

The M3 will compete with the RS4 in the same manner that the 3 series competes with the A4. That is to say that, with the A4 you also get Quattro and the plush Audi interior too, but that does not mean that these cars are not in the same segment and targeted at the same people. Its pretty well accepted that they are direct competitors and so it will go for their respective high performance incarnations.

If all we've heard is considered to be true, then i don't see why the E92 M3 WONT be compared to the current gen RS4. its going to be cheaper, carry the RS4, be faster, and handle better (according to current agreed upon specs) Want a plush interior? Get an MB. BMW ///M is about the full package.

Fleet's right about this one.

However, Fleet, two questions for you:

1. How much of a car length is 0.5s ?
2. You know in SA we pay almost 30% more for cars, but can the 4 door M3 be priced less than the 2 door coupe ?

Thanks,
Anees
