Tirerack is saying the Sport Edition A7 wheels are not compatible with the TPM sensors for a 2011 E90 M3.

Is this true? If so, what wheel option is available at Tirerack for winter tires and TPMs?

I had Blizzak LM 22's and 25's on my 335i and were happy. I am game for the Dunlop Sport 3D as well.

Please help.

My 2010 has the same sensors as your 2011 and they work just fine on my A7s. Tire Rack even installed them and did the mount/balance on them. Talk to Ben and he'll hook you up.

That message about the sensors is just an odd way of saying they are out of stock at present. The A7 are 100% sensor compatible.

Is this pretty reasonable? I couldn't find a cheaper 18" wheel on TireRack for my car, and have been unable to find a seller of OEM 18s with 2010+ TPMS on the forum classifieds.

Should I look anywhere else before committing to this purchase??

That is a very nice package. If you were looking for a cheaper wheel, the Sport Edition A7 will work, those are $129 per wheel currently. You can only make it show them in the winter section for some reason, but if it gives you any trouble, feel free to call me to order.

Ben, is there an ETA on the sensors? I guess the A7s take different sensors than the TRs, as the TRs can be ordered today with sensors?

I ordered A7s and the sensors were on backorder until today. Wheel/tire package shipped out and should be at my door this weekend

At long last, they have arrived. They were held up in customs for some arbitrary reason. We may run out temporarily again, because this first shipment mostly had to fill backorders, but more will come in mid-October and then we should be pretty well stocked.

Sorry, hadn't visited this thread in a bit. Do you know the brembo part #? if not, is it 4 or 6 piston calipers?

Front offset is too high. If you can get the right spacer you might be able to make it work. Bolt pattern and hub size are same.

It is a little big for the front. 255/35R19 fits most of the time, but it's a little tight. 265/35R19 would probably cause some rubbing. With a little work on the fender lips/liners you could probably make it work, but it may not be worth the trouble. Going wider is not usually the best way to go for snow in any case.

I was thinking of getting some pair of winter tyres on the OEM 19" wheels. I prefer Nokian tyres Hakkapeliitta R for snowy Finland but I have some problems with the sizes they offer:
235/35, 245/40 or 255/40 R19.

What do you think if I get 235/35 for front 8,5" wheels and 245/40 for the rear 9,5" wheels? Does this cause any problems with the sensor systems, since the front get's 1% smaller and the rear 1,5% bigger than the original 19" summer tyres...

That does give a little bit of an odd stagger any way you go. The M3 has not demonstrated any great sensitivity to changes in diameter, so I do not think that you would have any serious problems with regard to traction control or anything. The 245/40 will look a little stretched on a 9.5" wheel though.

I have a brand new set of Miro 942 "313" rims in 18x18.5 and 18.9.5
Will these rims fit and what tire sizes should I get for winter.
Assume 245/40 Front and 255/40 rear.

I just took a look at those Miro 942 rims I had on my 335.
They are 9.5 with ET40 and 8.5 ET35

To use these safely on the 2011 M3 Sedan, is a 15mm spacer good for all around, or do I need a different size.

I got a 4x4 for the winter, so I am no longer interested in the winter tires that will provide the best snow/ice traction for my M3- on those bad days, I'll drive the truck.

I plan to store my M3, but I am tempted to drive it on good days, including cold days when roads are dry and there might be light snow in the forecast.

So my question for you is: what wheel/tire setup you'd recommend for drivability on good winter days while retaining as much performance and fun as possible (the least "marshmallowy" ride)?

I feel you on wanting to avoid the marshmallow ride. Good steering feel helps a lot when you are trying to enjoy your car's handling.

If you plan to avoid all but the light snow, you could do an all-season tire. Stock 18" sizes with Bridgestone 960 Pole Position or Yoko Advan S4 will keep the must.

If you bump up to 255F 275R you can get the Michelin Pilot Sport AS+, which are a tad sharper handling.

If you still want to have true snow tires, Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 or Pirelli 240 Sottozero come in 235/40R18 and 255/40R18. Those are some of the best handling snow tires.
