Some might say up grade you're brakes which you can do. The car is made to run but things can happen running the car hard. I am not sure how the warranty will work but i think it should not be a problem as long as you don't tell dealer. I don't think you're insurance will cover you but I believe some tracks have track insurance. I might want to go to track at least once but will not unless my $80k plus car is covered cause I will drive it hard. It also depends on how you are going to drive it,but no matter how you drive it I believe insurance is a must.

Not sure I believe this! First trip to the dealer for regularly scheduled service and I'm sure the service guys would notice the after-market brakes. Generally with after-market mods there is no issue with the warranty though some dealers might make an issue of it. And they certainly won't repair/replace after-market mods like brakes. Others who have tracked their cars with after-market mods will have more insight...

True about the breaks dealer would see them.

What I meant about warranty if something breaks not about putting on aftermarket brakes. I am sure the guys that track would have better input.

BTW make sure you break you're new car in first: -).

Depending on your insurance company you may be covered. If you are tracking the car BUT not racing then you could be, none will cover if you are racing. I just had this conversation with an agent the other day and he told me that they would cover as long as it was not a race, but a road course was fine. did not make much sense to me, but that is what he said. I believe he said he was an agent with State Farm. I would call and check first though. As far as your car being ok, it will be ok but you can expect premature wear on your tires, brake pads and rotors. If you come to the dealer at 10k miles because your brakes are spent I bet they would give you a huge hassle covering them under your maintenance plan since "normal" life is expected to be in the high 20k miles to low 30k miles.

And what if I am a hard driver and wear my breaks fast no track?

There is a big difference between being hard on your brakes and abusing them on the track. The massive heat generated during track use will be apparent compared to hard brake use during driving. BMW expects to pay for your brakes once during your warranty/maintenance period, maybe twice if you are in the area of 25k at each change, but if you are tearing them up you will have issues. They will replace "normal wear and tear items" they would consider this to not be normal. This is just my opinion and maybe someone with experience can speak up, but hearing and seeing how BMW operates they are not going to replace without a fight or it will come down to how good your relationship is with your dealer.
