I don't see how a car with that aero can hit those speeds. Even with 800hp that front end is pushing so much air at those speeds I just don't see how thats possible. The Veyron has only 200 more horses and was built from the ground up to go fast and it's only got 15mph on a car that was designed as a family hauler. I would love to see proof.

Where have you seen that? As far as I know the fastest recorded speed of the F1 was 240mph.

Aerodynamic force also increases with respect to the square of velocity, so it makes sense that the amount of power needed to increase the top speed by 15-20mph is so great. |

I think the front bumper they've used for this emphasizes more function over form, i.e., allows the most airflow possible for the added engine components.

that thing looks like a rocket from a rolling sstart
THat 0-60 time looks real low, probably having really hard time trying lay that power down. Bring that thing to the track with some slicks.

"veyron only has 15mph on that" Dude you know how much ridiculously more power and and how much more drag there is to cut through for every additional ONE mph after 200mph is?? Just having 15mph more is like gonna take 400 more hp or some seriously body/drag changes to the car.
That is why almost every manufatuer and their mother can make a car that goes 200mph--that aint hard, after that it is like Rip your head of forces of drag that need to be overcome |

0-100km/h is not that impressive for that amount of power despite the weight. I suspect as some have, that it cannot put that power down to the ground. 0-200km/h is around about the likes of Porsche GT2 RS and Ferrari 458 italia. However, after this is where horsepower rules. To 300km/h the gt2 rs is approx 30s and the 911 turbo is about 40s.
So to be honest you wont be showing off its superiority unless you're on a clear autobahn. For daily driving there wont be much opportunity to let the beast loose. |
