The jammers are not in an optimal place, IMO. I hope they are not too far back or they will have a hard time detecting the lidar signal. A better place would be higher up but it just isn't possible with these cars. If the polarization is not an issue with the 9500ci's then mounting the heads behind the grill vertically would be good. But anyways, very clean install.
Cheers.

Front-loaded LED? Aw...
So the gray vinyl wrapped ashtray insert looks the same as the one in the pic for the V1 install... are these both done by the NY shop? ________ Honda CB400N Last edited by VP Electricity; 01-19-2011 at 05:25 AM. |

There is no ashtray and we didn't wrap it with the vinyl. That piece was fabricated to fit that area and wrapped with the black leather. Nothing is done by the "shop" you are referring to.

I'm interested in how you cut a window in the mirror backing? Eraser?
But I can't believe you did such a good job hiding everything and then stick the GPS up on dash. Surly you know it works just as well from under the dash. I like to double stick them to the under side of the defrost vents. But most any place without metal above works fine. |

very nice. next step would be to change out the display so that it's color matched at least to the compass that's also in the mirror. Don't know if that's possible but it would be awesome IMO.

Yes, color-matching the display would be really cool. Based on research we and others have done, the display maker is doing a custom package for Escort with different pinouts. At the board level, it's not the swap many have hoped for (including myself!).

Hi Guys, I am installing my BelSTiR + on Friday and i would like to install it inside the mirror as well. Can someone please tell me a little bit about it so i can explain to the installer? Do you just pop open the mirror and put it up against the glass and it shines through?
thx |

If they have a clear unobstructed view then they should be good. It's a little hard to see how far out they are in the pics. (Unfortunately, the further out they are the more conspicuous they are, i.e. non-stealth.) What I'm worried about is their ability to detect a laser hit aimed in the middle of the vehicle. They have to detect the laser first before they can "shift" and the lidar beam is not very wide, especially up close. Cheers.
