FYI, if you install these scoops, there is some drilling required. not hard. However, the diameter of the 7mm hole is CRITICAL, even 1mm too large and the scoop will not stay on the little plastic push pin fastener.

Here is a review/dyno from a forum member upgrading to the Macht Schnell filter: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=271780

All filters are manufactured in the US. The change in sound is largely related to omitting the integrated charcoal liner in the stock filter, which is restrictive to ariflow.

This may be a silly question, but do most people leave the cover off once the new filter is on? I came from the S2000 world, and with the airbox cover off (even with a better flowing aftermarket filter), you would potentially lose power due to heatsoak.

I bet it does sound nice with the cover off though. Also, PM price shipped to NJ (08879) please.

Leave the airbox cover on. It's an integral part to getting the best airflow out of this airbox. The reason why Macht Schnell didn't make a cold air intake or something similar that would replicate something you want to do (ie. take off the airbox cover), is because the Airbox on this vehicle is absolutely perfect, there is nothing I can see from an engineering perspective that would really do any good for gaining power. The only thing would be to get a filter that will flow a bit better, like the one we have here.
