Anyone have their M3 at prep center?

My M3 has been at the prep center for over 2 weeks. I've read posts here in the past of different reasons why it was there, front bracket, safety inspection issue, etc.

Update: Called customer relations and they had more detailed info than the dealer could give me.... update below..

Well, I would never doubt that your sales person is full of crap, but it might be true. I thought most of the makers' car transport was done by a few companies with which they have had long term, stable relationships. But, given the turmoil in the industry of late, I suppose it has affected many relationships. Mine was at the prep center about 10days.

Yeah I knew trucking companies were struggling, but those under a steady contract like that of auto delivery generally stay afloat. However, they might have tried to re-negotiate pricing and BMW turned them down and it caused some issues. I'm on the phone with BMW customer relations now and he's been really helpful trying to track down the issue. I'll update what I find out, especially if it may affect other's here on the forum.

Mine has been at Brunswick, GA Delivery Center since June 21st. My car has a hold since four rims have to be replaced due to the great roads in Italy and France.

Ok got an update, it was unloaded from the train at 10:37 this morning and awaiting to be loaded on a truck. Just a little info for everyone, I don't think BMW shares too many details with dealers. My dealer was unaware of the exact status. I called BMW customer relations (800) 831-1117 and he had exact times of where and when it was at different areas. Really nice and really helpful. If you want details on your tracking, give them a call.

Did they explain why it was delayed for 2 weeks?

There is a huge backlog of cars at the port due to seat belt modules and other issues which have finally been corrected. Trucking companies don't have the capacity to move the cars right now. There is 48 hour rule that once released to trucking, the car must be transported by the trucking company. This isn't happening because there are no available trucks.

I called the terminal manager at the trucking company to put my car on a truck. He put my car on a truck carrying Mercedes and had the truck driver drive to my dealer first for drop off.

My car was delayed for 10 days after release. Luckily it came without a scratch or ding.
