Reserved a Frozen Gray M3. All reservations filled in 15 minutes!
I unofficially reserved one @ 11:50 am.
If my dealer gives me a decent trade-in $ for my 2010 DCT I'm pulling the trigger on the Frozen Grey... Per BMWNA: Quote:

Congrats! Still think youre crazy for chopping in a 2010 M3 just for that paint though! (depreciation on your 2010 must make this an expensive proposition) Enjoy the car, and all the best.

Congrats...
Frozen grey has been available for $5k since the MY2011, it's an Individual Option. BMW's marketing is hilarious... Add a little red leather, paint it with the FG Individual color and call it a "special edition" - pretty retarded for an anniversary car. They should have done some really and truly unique to these "exclusive" models that set them apart from the rest of the gang, not just a matte color anyone can order... Anyone can order a FG car, they just have to pay $5k. It's nice, but not to my taste, a car should be metallic - you want a matte color, vinyl wrap your car for $1k and still have the luxury of a metallic car. I've also heard that this paint is a pain to deal with, the coat is fragile, something along those lines... I wonder if this is true... Good luck!

Congrats, OP!
Does BMW cover the paint under warranty if you pay for the $5k "individual option?" I heard from someone you have to sign a waiver, that says paint is not covered.

Frozen Reservation
Hi all
Thanks for the kind words. The clear finish has the same durability as any other production clear, it's just matte. So if it gets scratched, you can't just buff and polish it out cuz it can get shiny. This is one of the reasons I presume BMW NA ask for the paint waiver signing. -Gus

Wow, paint waiver signing on a $5k paint job - could be the worst thing I've ever heard...
Dealers are definitely going to try and get MSRP if not OVER MSRP for these "special" cars... Could probably be cheaper to order a loaded 2011, pay $5k for FG and still get it at $1,500 over invoice.
