Tires for rg63s

Where did you guys go get your tires and what setup did you ultimately go with? I prefer a local (gta) supplier and installer.

The AD08s in 265/30 and 295/30 seem to a solid choice, but would love to hear opinions on how your setup is working.

I've been traveling (just returned from a 2 month trip) and hadn't gotten around to ordering tires until now. I'm probably the only guy from the first group buy who hasn't installed their rg63s yet.

Hurry up and get those things installed! The AD08's seem to be a pretty solid choice. I know a lot of guys in the US went with Vreds, not sure what other guys in T.O. are doing. I think Turb934 went with PS2's (or maybe it was PSC's?) and up until this week he still didnt have them on his car either!

I recently purchased some NT05's for my track wheels at Xtreme Tire Garage in Port Credit. I dealt with Manny there - let me know I can get you a number if you like. Nice clean shop and they did a great job.

Thats what I run on my RG63s.
Unless you are tracking/autoX on the RG63s with AD08s, I think you might be happier with a less extreme tire for daily use.

I put Conti Extreme Contact DW on thinking I'd use my 18's With PS2s and then Dunlop Star Specs (because 18 inch tires are cheaper) for tracking, and the RG63s for road use with a comfortable and safe tire.

Now I'm thinking I want to burn through these tires so I can get a more performance oriented tire on.

I was considering ordering exactly the same set up, so now I'll wait and see what happens. Sorry cannot provide any feedback, except for confirming that in theory this set up seems to make a lot of sense for track or street/track wheels.

I've seen RG63s in either either, brushed or polished (tough to tell from distance) on black 328, and they looked very good. Should look even better on M3

What width are your wheels - 9.5" and 10.5"?

Thanks Jaypod, I'll shoot you a PM regarding Xtreme Tire Garage. I've been looking for a new tire supplier as the shop I've been using to date is just too busy.

What do you mean by too extreme for daily use? Will AD08s cause excess tire wear or road noise compared to PS2s? I'm not worried about tire noise because my driving is mostly in the city.

It will def give you a harsher ride, more tire noise, heavier tire, and they wear much more quickly.
Now I love the AD08s and other extreme performance tires, but after having used the AD07 and others on street, I don't think they are great if you are just using them as a pure street tire.

If you are going to use them as double duty, track and street, and only have one set of rims, then they are ideal.
But if you aren't going to track, or have another set of wheels for track, then stick to a more street oriented tire.
