Front grill removal

Does anyone know how to remove the lower front grill? I have some leaves and debris stuck to the lower radiator and would like to remove the plastic grill that's in front of it to clean it out. I know this grill pops in (doesn't pop out towards you), but it looks like you'd have to remove the entire bumper cover along with this grill. Has anyone done this before? Thanks in advance.

I think I've read you need to remove the entire bumper to release the clips from the inside. I'd like to know for sure too though because that would be a good place to flush mount some laser shifters.

I've heard it pops out easily but I couldn't figure it out. Would be great if someone who has done it could explain. I can get the top and bottom to come out the plastics clips pretty easily but the sides seem fixed in place. I wish there was a way to access this area without taking the bumper off.

It probably takes seconds to remove, but bumper has to come off indeed. No space anywhere to stick your hands and press the clips. Didn't scrutinize that grille when I removed my bumper, but remember being 6. It's not hard removing the bumper, so you should try it, and note the location of the clips for the gang to know. I assume you could wrap safety wire on the clips then secure it on an adjacent hole so clips can be pulled from the outside . Guess depends how much force is needed to pop them out. If you find a way to dislodge it from the outside, you'd only have to remove the bumper once . Good luck.

i swapped out my grills without removing the front bumper...to be honest, i released the top few clips and then just pulled the grill out directly without pressing down on the other clips. the grill came off easily and none of the clips broke!! (i was surprised, maybe i was just lucky).

OP: The clips that hold the lower grill are not accessable w/o removing the bumper, as an option you can go to a self-serve car wash with a high-pressure wand and get 99% of the bugs and rocks dislodged from the fins of the radiator w/o removing the grille.
