Where 08 M3 stands in year 2011
Hello people.
Just wondering where an 08 M3 would be priced @ in 2011, considering it's almost near end-warranty or somewhere close to the 50K miles margin. Yes, I am new to BMW and I crave for this car after doing so much brain dead research. Never owned a bimmer before and always wanted to. What I'm trying to say is... Should I wait to see a considerable price drop in 2011 or am I just wasting my time missing out on the excitement because the value of these cars aren't dropping any time soon, even with the warranty out of the picture? I don't plan on buying a brand new version. A desirable M3 for me would be 40-60K miles coupe that's in the low $40K range. Thanks! |

I am in the same boat as you... I believe that the residuals on a 3 year lease can be anywhere between 35k and 41k.... this is what the end of term lease buyout is. I think that this will be close to what they will be going for.... Either that or people would not return the lease, and sell out right for a profit. The research is done so BMW will know what they can get for the car at the end of the lease. Therefore, this is what they think the market for these cars are. I am hoping to get a car with 35k-40k miles in the high 30s..... Patience maybe worth it as it is not a collectors car and will continue to depreciate

Glad to hear that. I really am. With that, I have an idea of where I'm standing in the world of BMW. I don't expect the expected, as we all know, the unexpected can arise anytime. I am just an anxious individual. Somewhere between $35-40K would be exceptionally affordable for me. Guess, patience will tell. Thx for replying!

it's going to be a while before you see a lot of low mileage 08's in the 35-40k range. that being said, as you mentioned before, if you're happy with a 40-60K mileage m3, you'll probably find some deals out there soon on 08's.

Right now it seems a good deal on 08's is in the 40's......some into 50's depending on vert and trans...DCT is worth more...

I think there will be a decent amount of 08's out there but they'll still be in the mid-upper 40's. Remember BMW over produced them before they (and everyone else) realized the world was ending. Some might even start trickling in this year since there are a few 2 yr leases out there. Personally I would wait for an 09 or newer though since they have the updated iDrive and HDD.

I'll pass most of you by the end of the summer. When I was looking in early $50k was my ceiling. Most of the cars I was looking at were asking 55-ish with lots of options and 15k+ miles, so some of them would probably have ended up below 50 after the negotiations finished up. But I'm happy I got one with 280 miles instead. ![]() Next year I fully expect cars with 30k+ miles to be sub-40k, don't tell my wife. ![]()

There are some 08's going in the low 40's already. I think in the next few months you will start to see more and more in that price range. You could probably even find a CPO one right now with 40-60k miles in your price range. There are few on ebay right now with "buy it now" prices in the low/mid 40's.
Have yet to see one listed below $40k but the time will come. |
