islam and obama

here is something i found on just rage that seemed interesting

http://www.justrage.com/article.php?...=nested&page=5

"Muslims around the world believe that, now that Barak Hussein Obama is President, it is only a matter of time before they will be able to take over America and stamp out any religion other than Islam. And they are justified in believing this will happen.

As proof of this justification, I submit to you the following facts:

Fact: In 1952, President Truman established a National Day of Prayer, non-denominational, for everyone, including all religions, not just Christians.

Fact: In 1988, President Regan designated the first Thursday in May of each year as a National Day of Prayer, once again, non-denominational, for everyone, including all religions, not just Christians.

Fact: In June, 2007, then Presidential candidate Obama declared that America was no longer a Christian nation.

Fact: During his campaign for the Presidency, Obama left his Christian church because he had issues with the pastor.

Fact: On September 25, 2009, from 4 pm until 7 pm, a National Day of Prayer for the Muslim religion of Islam, was held on Capitol Hill, beside the White House, and with official permission. Over 50,000 Muslims attended and participated this event which was only for followers of Islam, and not for any other religion.

Fact: This year, President Obama cancelled the 21st Annual Nation Day of Prayer Ceremony at the National Catherderal (which is a non-denominational place for any person of any religion to visit and pray in), because of "not wishing to offend anyone".

Fact: In order to spread the word about the advances of Islam on Capitol Hill, Muslims have set up a special website which is www.islamoncapitolhill.com . Check it out. It makes interesting reading.

I am not a racist or a hater of persons of other faiths. I am not even a Christian. I am a Buddhist. Buddhism, like most other religions, including Islam, embraces persons of every race, sex, age, nation, ethnicity, socio-economic status, and every other conceivalbe condition of the human situation of life. Therefore, I am not offended by a National Day of Islamic Prayer. I am not offended that our President is in favor of this too. Prayer is good for the simple reason that belief in a higher power who can grant requests made in prayer, must also lead the prayerful to realize that power can also distribute justice for wrong actions and punishment for malicious behavior. And I am most heartfelt in my support of allowing Muslims to be sworn into elected office, promising to do their duty, or to witness in court, promising to tell the truth, with their hand on the Koran. Understanding what beliefs are most sacred to our citizens is what makes America the great nation it is.

What I am offended by in all of this, is that our President, who is supposed to be the leader of We The People of the United States of America, which means all of us, has cancelled the National Day of Prayer for everyone, because he did not with to offend "anyone". Our Constitution clearly defines that we all have the right to "Freedom of religion." It does not say we must favor one religion over any other, as our President has clearly done, by favoring the followers of Islam.

So this brings to mind an interesting question. If our President has favored one religion over all others, has he, in fact, violated Constitutional Law? If he has, indeed, violated the highest law of our nation, should he not be punished in some way for this offense. And is he fit to continue as our President and leader? Perhaps the following example can help in making this determination:

These days, if a person is driving along and one of the tail lights on the car is out, the police have the right to pull the driver over and issue a fine for the light being out because it is an offense against the law. The police officer also has the right, when pulling anyone over for anything, to review the driver's license, registration, and insurance documents. The police officer also has the right to search the vehicle, the driver's person and that of all passengers, as well as ask them for proof if identity. In any case, there is almost always a large fine and sometimes a mark against the driver's record, which usually results in increased insurance costs. If all of this can happen to a normally law-abiding citizen over something as minor as a blown out tail light on his car, a minor violation of local traffic regulations, what penatly should be meted out for violating the highest law in our land, our Constitution? Please keep in mind that the courts usually take into account the level of knowledge of the law for any offender. I should think that anyone elected to be President of the United States of America should not only be familiar with our Constitution, but should have it committed to memory.

In closing, I would like to say that I know this is a very long comment on a very old rage. I just wished to make a few points regarding the true meaning of the words "WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.", before they get edited from our Constitution, along with "In God We Trust" from our money, and "One Nation Under God" from our pledge of alliegience.

Signed, An American Citizen"

Fact #1: I agree with that. We are not a Christian nation. We do not have an official religion. While the majority of people are christians, we should not officially call ourselves a Christian nation.

Fact #2: He left his church because of the pastor saying hate speech about whites. If he continued to stay with the church, then that would have harmed his election chances with people thinking he supports what the pastor has said. He didn't leave due to religious reasons over the pastor.

He didn't cancel the 21st annual national day of prayer. He just didn't hold a ceremony.

Overall, religion needs to stay out of politics and people should not give a crap if the president, senator, representative, etc is Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, etc. All they should care about is if they can run the country competently.

THANK YOU!

I grow tired of people saying things like "He's Muslim!"

Too many people care about shallow things with big public figures. I mean I can't tell you how many times I've heard people emphasize the "Hussein" part in his middle name on purpose to try and make him sound evil or something. It's just plain retarded.

What matters is how they run a country, as you said. But hey, the media caters to shallow viewers, and real, in-depth issues that matter just doesn't make money. Just take a look at how much money programs like E! generate. In fact, not too long ago, my sister was watching some E! type show. They were doing a "year in-review" thing of Obama and what he accomplished. Here is what they said that he accomplished thus far:

1. Swatted a fly out of mid-air with his hand
2. Held a "beer summit"
3. Bought a burger at a regular restaurant
4. Wielded a plastic lightsaber

And they ended with "...and that's what Obama has accomplished in his presidency so far." God, I hate the media so so much. Real issues in America just don't matter to people anymore, I guess.

The OP was long, so I didn't read it. Is the big "O" a muslim? I already started telling all my friends that he is after I saw the thread, but I just wanted to make sure. Can someone please validate my thoughts for me? I'm incapable of thinking for myself.

So Obama is Muslim and a socialist? A friend of mine told me that there was a video of Obama torturing dogs in Mexico while on vacation. This guy is just bad all around.

First off, E! should NEVER be commenting on anything even related to politics. Second, for most, real issues are too hard to understand because people may have to think for a second. Instead, let's all talk about Sarah Jessica Parker's horse face and Sandra Bullocks's adopted kid. And who's the Speaker of the House? No, it isn't Lady Gaga.

Religion is a personal thing, and I wish people would keep it that way. I don't care if you worship Lee Majors, just balance the effing budget and work on paying down the national debt. And stay the hell out of my business.

This kind of conspiracy theory stuff from both sides gets annoying. Whether its Bush and 9/11 or Obama and his birth certificate, focusing on such things undermines one's credibility and shifts the focus away from constructive debate and tackling what really matters.

OP, I understand the article's contention, but the I would argue that cancelling the national day of prayer did not violate any provision of the Constitution, or any relevant case law. The fact is you/he/all of us were still able to freely pray when/where we wanted to, and the government didn't prevent any of us from doing that or advocated one religion over the other.

And is it relates to basic Constitutionally law, this passage is very troubling and has a lot of errors:

These days, if a person is driving along and one of the tail lights on the car is out, the police have the right to pull the driver over and issue a fine for the light being out because it is an offense against the law. TRUE

The police officer also has the right, when pulling anyone over for anything, to review the driver's license, registration, and insurance documents. TRUE & FALSE You can't pull someone over for "anything". You have to observe a violation of the law.

The police officer also has the right to search the vehicle, the driver's person and that of all passengers, as well as ask them for proof if identity. FALSE This is untrue. A search can only be conducted based on reasonable suspicion or pursuant to an arrest. They cannot search your car or go beyond what is in plain site if they don't have probable cause or you're already under arrest for something else.

In any case, there is almost always a large fine and sometimes a mark against the driver's record, which usually results in increased insurance costs. DOUBTFUL - "almost always" doesn't seem to be a verifiable statistic.

At the end of the day "In God We Trust" is still on our currency, you can go to church whenever you want, so I think things are pretty good.

Funny how people react when confronted directly with the truth. Oh, it's cut up, what ever, your faced with the truth and that's hard for some to swallow. No one wants to admit they were swindled. Oh, and just for the record and the facts, no birth certificate has been released. That's just a fact that remains. Hell you have to show that to play t-ball in the USA. Just show your birth certificate, signed by the doctor.

And it is funny how people react when asked why do they care if he is a muslim. They just ignore it......

Taking the words from the video which still I say has clever editing to deceive people, Obama is talking about being in a family with muslims in it which he is in one. He didn't say he was a muslim, but from a family that has muslims in it.

I know, that's is not a birth certificate, hence the problem. You can not even get a pass port with that document in the USA. That's a document that says there is a birth certificate, it's not the certificate its self. You go look at your own, it says where (the hospital) and who (the doctor) delivered you, and is signed by the doctor, go look at your own. Then post again.....

That is a copy of a birth certificate. Do you have your original? I know I sure as hell don't. I had to send off for one when I joined the Marine Corps, which didn't have a signature, and I've probably lost that one as well by now. The doctor who delieverd me has been dead for at least 10 years, would you suggest I leave the country because I'm not a citizen?

This whole idea that he's not a legit president on some sort of BS technicality just makes you look childish. He won the election fair and square, by a significant margin, and now the Right is grasping at straws and crying the blues.

Well now, your wrong, what your looking at is a State document that says there is a birth certificate from HI and that they verify that, it is not the birth certificate. And to get a Pass Port you must show a birth certificate or a certified copy of one, not a state certificate of birth that doesn't cut it. Oh, I did 29 years on active duty in the US military and retired an Officer. Oh, second I was Officer in Charge of a recruiting office that covered half of California, and that would not make it, you must have gotten the certified copy of the birth certificate to come into the Marines. Just face the facts...there right in front of your face....

That ABSOLUTLY is a state birth certificate. If you can't read what it says at right at the top of it, then YOU'RE hopeless.

As a matter of fact, I can't believe I'm even having a debate like this with someone who can't even figure out the difference between the word "your" and "you're", and in YOU ARE. Did you write like that when you were an officer in charge of a recruiting office? And exactly what rank were you when you retired? It's hard for me to believe that someone with your level of writing skills was actually an officer in the Armed Forces.

I got into the Marine Corps with a certificate just like that, and I also got a passport with one.

Get a grip man, your entire argument is based on complete and utter BS, and it's obvious for anyone to see.

Hmm, an officer and OIC of a recruiting station.... Makes perfect sense.... I think that explains a lot

(Just kidding about the officer thing; just a little joke we enlisted had about officers when I was in....)
