Intake Charge Kits... Yes or no?

I recently ordered an APE filter for my M3... which, as most people on here say is the exact same thing as the Macht Schnell filter. I've heard of some generous power gains to be had from adding a charge kit to the filter.

Do the charge kits really do a whole lot for gains? If so, who would you recommend? No, I don't care if it is carbon fiber since its under the hood and me nor anyone else ever sees it. I just want something that is quality and fuctional.

The factory piece is apparently pretty efficient as it turns out.

Yes. I've heard that as well. It seems like people don't agree on this subject.

Anyone with some dyno figures to support either side?

Quality and functionality is definitely the right line of thinking when it comes to the aftermarket, IMO.

Its a highly disputed topic and it is hard to document any gains. Even with consistent dyno runs, the gains from a charge pipe alone would be hard to realize on paper.

However, if coupled with a performance dropin filter such as AFE/BMC/MS/etc and some scoops from AFE/RPI/MS/etc....the gains are very real indeed...
