Euro Delivery - Airfare (recent ED people I need help!)

OK so I am doing ED and I am picking the car up June 28th. I have been looking at the Lufthansa 2-4-1 deal and leaving from Philadelphia or Baltimore it isnt cheap especially if I do non-stop flights both ways. Can anyone that has done ED recently or those of you that are geared up to do it soon tell me what you are paying price wise or what other places seemed to give you better deals. Leaving from Philly I can do Expedia/US Airways for cheaper even paying for both tickets.

Thanks for any help guys!

Bimmerfest is a great resource.

Generally it is a better deal to use the 2 for 1 during the high season. I would call Lufthansa and see what it works out to. You still have to pay the taxes on the free ticket. It looks like US Airways has a non-stop round trip for around $1200 from Philly. Go to Kayak to find the best rate on the other airlines.

Definitely check out Kayak to compare prices. I ended up getting mine through Kayak because it's cheaper than going with Lufthansa on 5/5. It doesn't matter what others are paying because everyone has a different flight schedule so the fares will vary accordingly.

Doing mine on June 23rd and booked on Continental with FF miles. Not sure on a straight purchase but there is a direct from Newark to Munich.

Look here https://www.abctravel.de/EN/flug.php 29 Apr - 6 May, Philly to Munich for $531 roundtrip including taxes, non-stop, US Airways. You may want to wait until you get closer to flying to book. Looks like the furter in advance you book the more $ it is.

The Lufthansa 2for1 also has other benefits, like you don't need to pay when you confirm. Instead you pay ~1 month out (they will tell you the date). If you find a better deal then you can cancel within the window they provide without penalty. Also, if your delivery date changes for some reason the program is more flexible.

I booked a confirmed ticket through the program IAD-MUC-IAD (all non-stop) for something like $1545, which was about $50 less than what I could find online for the same flights, plus all of the benefits outlined above.

Immediately prior to my no-penalty cancellation period expiring I accrued enough FF miles so I was able to book the tickets with those and cancel my 2for1 confirmed ticket.
