Beautiful. This is why we DON'T want evil SCIENCE education in our schools.
Today it's Darwinism and evolution...tomorrow it's gravity...

We must fight any rational evidence with faith and instinct. No double blind testing, no replication, no postulating falsifiable hypothesis...

Feelings, common sense and blind faith is what we must practice...

Damn the vaccines, long live leaches!!!

That's why I always say...let people believe whatever they want.

And when the time comes to vote...this is what we'll get.

Good night.

Hank Johnson is suffering from Hepatitis C and I read that the medication he takes makes it hard for him to properly articulate his thoughts. I've heard him speak in the past and he's bright and very articulate.

One of my coworkers sent this to a lobbyist friend. They had all seen it and I guess he had already said publicly that he was speaking metaphorically. I would hope that a man with that many years under his belt (on earth, not in Gov't) would know that you can't tip over an island. What I found even more frustrating was his complete inability to find the word "narrow" in his vocabulary. Least widest? Really?

Do some research on Hank Johnson. He has hepatitis C and it has affected his liver and has caused problems with his ability to articulate his thoughts.

Fine, so find some other line of work where articulating your thoughts isn't really a requirement. Sounds like he is now unqualified for the job of Representative, which for the most part does nothing other than articulate thoughts, either verbally (debates) or written (legislation.)

I don't know how Representative Johnson contracted Hepatitis C but who cares? It's a very serious illness and it's obviously affected his ability to speak in public which is tragic for a public servant. Making light of this is rude and shows your lack of respect for others.

Don't try to tell me that his thinking was correct and the words just came out wrong because of his medication. If his thoughts are that clouded he should not be left to making important decisions.....Hep C is a horrible thing, but if it were any of us at our jobs, I'm pretty sure we'd be let go

So, you are saying that he has Hep C induced dementia...it seems that Rep Johnson disagrees with that assessment...he says that we just took his comments wrong...

I think that it is rude of you to assume that Rep. Johnson has dementia, when clearly, we intrepreted his statements incorrectly.

“I wasn’t suggesting that the island of Guam would literally tip over,” said Johnson. “The subtle humor of this obviously metaphorical reference to a ship capsizing illustrated my concern about the impact of the planned military buildup on this small tropical island.

http://hankjohnson.house.gov/2010/04...-hearing.shtml

"With the addition of 8,000 Marines and their dependents – an additional 80,000 people during peak construction on the tiny island – could be a tipping point which could adversely affect the island’s fragile ecosystem and could overburden its stressed infrastructure. Having traveled to Guam last year, I saw firsthand how this beautiful – but vulnerable island – could easily become overburdened, and I was simply voicing my concerns that the addition of that many people could tip the delicate balance and do permanent harm to Guam.”

There is a term for that statement, actually a lot of terms.....
"Putting out a fire"
"Spin control"
"Spin doctoring"
"Damage control"
"Clearly I'm a genius and you are all fucking retarded for not getting my subtle metaphor...."

The list goes on.

The troubling part of this video for me was not the fact that he said the island might tip over even though I do think he was not being truly serious when he said that.

The part that gets me is that he can't even convey the dimensions of the island. "by it widest level is 12 miles shore to shore and its smallest location is ..." WTF...The whole first minute of the video is way more troubling to me then him saying the island would tip over.

So hep C and the medication to treat it causes you to be dumb as a box of rocks? If so, then why the hell is he allowed to voice a political opinion?
