Question e92 m3 wheel suggestion plz

Hey I ordered my 2011 m3 a couple weeks a go.My dealer suggested me to get the 18" wheels instead of the 19" 220s. His suggestion was i can keep the 18" for the winter, track the car with the 18" tires burn them and buy 18" winter tires and get a fancy set of 19" or 20" wheels and tires for the summer. However i like the original 19" alloy 220s. When i checked them on ebay they were more than $2000 cad with the shipping etc...whereas the same wheels are $2000 in the options list. Should i listen to my dealership or my heart lol? Thanks

PS: Are the bmw 19" alloy 220s worth for the money or i can find better options? Could you please send me some links with the pictures prices and so on?

Both BMW OEM Wheels are Very Good

The 19's are forged and should be very durable. If you like them, get them on your car. You would have to spend a great deal of money to get an aftermarket wheel that approaches the quality of the the OEM 19. If you really like the OEM 18's, look at the for sale section of this board as there are plenty of them for sale. There are a number of threads on 18" wheels. There is a wide choice available which becomes somewhat limited if you fit a big brake kit. Here are links to the best 18" wheel threads:

2011 M3  [3.37]
Listen to your heart. What the dealership suggested is EXACTLY what I'm doing. Using the stock 18s for track days and winter rims. I bought a set of Alufelgen SF-71s (so you can't buy these or there would be 2 AW M3s in Halifax with the SF-71s ) for daily summer use.

I also preferred the OEM 19s. If I could have found a set on this forum, I would have bought them for sure. If I had ordered my car (rather than it being there), I would have ordered the OEM 19s and then bought cheaper after market winter rims!! If you like the OEM 19s, get them and buy winter rims. If you stay with the 18" OEMs and decide to use them for winter rims, it will be VERY hard to find 19 OEMs if that's what you like. You will end up going after market (except the SF-71s ).

I think I will get the 18s for now since they are coming with free of charge. I found oem 19s on ebay actually for 2065 cad. including the shipping. I might get something different instead of those 19 oems but i don't know yet. Btw I just checked your rims and i think they were really nice. Don't worry i will get something different of course Thank you for the advice btw. I have lots to learn and discover yet. When should i track my car? Should i wait till the 1200km oil change or not?

or should i go with ZCP package to get both the 19s and EDC? Are those CSL styled 19s worth it?

You shouldn't pay much more than $1,000 US for 19" OEM wheels only. $2,000 to $2,200 US with new tires and TPMS.

EDC is a good option. The comfort setting is really nice around town. The ZCP wheels are cast but nicely styled. They should be more durable than typical aftermarket cast wheels.

Just to let you know I live in Canada and there is no official price for this pckge yet even though i can order one lol. Apparently some guy on this form has ordered his bmw from Vancouver and the option was around $4500 cad and some other guy who just ordered his 2011 zcp m3 claimed that EDC option is a must have in order to get the ZCP which is an extra 2k lol. It is really frustrating to not to know anything and wait to be informed.

If you like the stock look then why not get the 19s with the car and buy the 18s used from someone on forums or on ebay, might save you a little more, I'm assumming the 19a are harder to get for a cheaper price since they may sell very easily so no one would really drop the cost whereas the 18s are harder to sell so someone who really wants to get rid of them will drop the cost significantly to move them out.
