Dakar Yellow in laval

They have a dakar yellow Edition on the lot @ BMW laval. I used to love dakar on the e36, but I find it just looks wrong on the E92. Looks way better in pictures than in real life.

Dakar Yellow is an acquired taste IMO. Phoenix Yellow is just gorgeous however.

I agree. Dakar looked better on the smaller cars E36, M Z3 ... Phoenix was awesome.

I just saw the Dakar Yellow M3 at the dealership last Friday. Very nice. $9K for the Individual color. With all the options, the MSRP is $97K.

I would probably go with an M6 than spend 97K on an M3.

Can't wait to see the new M6. Should be in for 2012 when my lease on the M3 ends....

Well it includes the Individual Color and:

1. Gloss Black 19s
2. Gloss Black side vents
3. Gloss Black Kidney Grilles
4. Gloss Black Exhaust Pipes
5. Gloss Black Hood Vents
6. Special Contrasting Stitching on Leather
7. AW (Has two-tone scheme)
8. Racing Flag on door sills.

IMO, it is a bit of an overkill however, the edition does stand out from other
M3s

Two completely different cars that serve different purposes.

I like to track my car and hence NO M5 or M6 since they suck on the track compared to the M3.

In all my track days I can tell you there are a TON of M3's that are tracked. I have only seen one M5 (guy got rid of it because it sucked on the track and got a GT3) and not one M6.

I agree. The M6 and M5 are just too heavy and sloppy. Really an old man's car IMO. As for these individual M3's. I can't justify the 10k price increase for a bunch of cosmetic changes. Throw in a set of upgraded brakes and maybe I could justify it.

It was there last Friday and my salesman had somebody interested vaguely in it but he did not feel it was very solid. The $97K sticker price is hard to swallow. The funny thing is that it had no gas guzzler tax but the E93 M3 next to it in the showroom had a $1000 gas guzzler tax.

I just saw it! And I also saw the Monte Carlo one outside - AH!!!!! INSANELY beautiful - the DY is perfect! but it has a DCT = deal-breaker. The MCB was also perfect! (sans audiophile - no biggie!) but had a SUNROOF!! = deal-breaker. I guess if we end up getting one, we must order!

The one outside is LeMans Blue not Monte Carlo Blue.

Are you sure? He checked his inventory and it showed up as Monte Carlo...with even the CF roof delete...which it had..

Yes, I am sure. That LeMans Blue M3 was replaced in the showroom by the Dakar Yellow one. There won't be a MC Blue M3 in showrooms for months. That LM Blue M3 has been there for almost a year.

I will have to insist! LOL don't want to be a dick though! He went through his 280 car inventory list today in front of my eyes - no LeMans blue. The blue in front is MUCH lighter than the IB inside, and also has the special trim on the seats.

I went into the dealership fairly fast. I assumed the blue M3 outside was the LMB that got kicked out of the showroom to make room for the Dakar Yellow. In that case, it is my mistake.

I am still surprised to see MCB M3 already in dealerships. I have seen the MCB X5M however.
