I wonder if my MOL login even still works....

I had known how to pronounce it before my vacation stay at MCRDPISC, but that's only because I spent so much of my time in college on the couch, stoned, watching The History Channel religiously.

Let's face it; Bush was an idiot in many regards, and Obama is no better. I just get a kick out of all the Obama fans trying to defend him. They got snowed over in the campaign thinking he was some almighty savior.... How hard is it to admit the dude's term so far has been a comedy of errors? If you don't feel comfortable with that terminology, "disappointing" is probably the most optimistic term that could be used for it while still being withing the spectrum of reality.

Regardless of the actions of the President before him, Obama should not have made that mistake TWICE. That being said, I understand the general populace shouldn't be expected to know how vital Navy Corpsmen are, but if you are Commander-in-Chief of the US Armed Forces, I'd expect you to know how to pronounce it, especially considering it's not even the most often-used term containing that phonetic trickery (i.e. the United States Marine Corps). Corpsmen are pretty important.

I'm not going to sit here and say I could do a better job than Obama, or I am more astute and intelligent than Obama, but I will sit here and say we should expect better of him. And FFS quit using comparisons to GWB as easy-out rebuttals to anyone who mentions any negatives about Obama and the job he has/hasn't done. The President should be held accountable for screwing up. I don't give a flying F about what GWB did and you're not going to win my opinion over using those comparisons. I know Bush was a complete idiot at times. So what? That excuses Obama from every mindless mishap simply because he's a mere 1% less idiotic???

Seriously this topic is not even worthy of a thread. There are so many issues of real consequence you could be discussing or debating.

What a waste of bandwith. Pretty sad.

Probably. The military updates everything super slow. When I went to get my CAC as an Army Contractor a few months after my sep, they pulled up my SSN on JPAS or whatever network they used, it listed me as active an CURRENTLY DEPLOYED to IRAQ haha. They take forever to update anything.

Why not?

Bush spent almost 2 years on active duty between basic training, flight school, and fighter interceptor training. He then regularly (1-2 flights a week) flew missions for the next two years.

He may not have had the experience of McCain but he had a helluva lot more than Obama.

lol I forget about that guy. He probably had a better chance without that annoying ass Palin. But really, after the past 8 years, there was no chance that Republicans would win the White House again.

Palin was the biggest mistake of his campaign, but to be fair who else should he have chosen as his running mate?

The Dems had a "black" guy... A young, down to earth, intelligent "black" guy... Lol

Meanwhile the only good candidates are more older white guys, or Huckabee, who I like, but he is just another "redneck" preacher in the public's eye.

McCain should have picked the Louisiana governor, Bobby Jindal, a Indian from the south, and said what now Obama? They should have also questioned Obama's race, instead of having far right groups blabbering that he is a Muslim terrorist... lol.

Hindsight is 20/ 20.

Exactly what part of Obama's race should they have questioned?

You'd think that with his beloved teleprompter, Obama's handlers would have learned to spell things phonetically by now.

It's nice to know that so many of the HUGE issues in our country have all been taken care of, and that pronunciation is now our biggest threat.

The fact is that Obama got elected solely on his ability to give a good speech. He had no experience to speak of or a legislative or executive record on which to base a vote. What he had was words. So, yes it is a big deal when he proves he can't even do that well.

maybe he was referring to the fact that Obama is only half black. He's as black as Derek Jeter and I've never heard anyone call Jeter "black," he's called "mixed" if anyone mentions it at all.

Constantly referring to Obama as black was a clear attempt by the Dems to show what a historic event it would be to elect him. They played off of the emotions of the election and did what they needed to do to win.

IDK if that's what that guy was referring to but it's something the GOP should have addressed regardless.
