Exhaust/Muffler (guidance/question???) For My E92 M3...
I currently have the stock exhaust system... There are so many aftermarket ones to choose from. I have done my research on prices/specs etc... and now I am interested in purchasing the REMUS Race Exhaust System. But heard that you have to cut the OEM muffler/exhaust system off in order to install it. Is that correct? I really do not want to do that so I am thinking of ordering the Eisenmann Connecting Pipes/Eisenmann Mid Pipes... Will this then elminate having to cut to install the REMUS Race Exhasut System? Here in Germany they are strict on inspections (DB measured) and it would be easier before each inspection to remove if I go this route? I am not an exhaust expert so please help me out/provide your thoughts...

anyway yes you will need to cut the stock muffler, unless you buy the connecting pipes also....and if you get the x-pipe then you will again need to cut unless you get high flow cats or go catless... |

Hey Hans, any particular reason you want to do Remus exhaust?
There's many better choices out there IMHO. Gintani, Akrapovic, Eisenmann, MeisterSchaft, etc. I'm assuming your choosing it based on price, if that's the case.....check out AP's exhaust. Includes connecting pipes so no cutting/welding required ![]() [u2b]HDyyJXkC4Vs&f[/u2b] |

What are you looking for in an exhaust is the first thing of choice as there are so many options right now. There are extremes of one end to the other in terms of sound...performance is pretty much all the same unless you do the full headers back system.

OP - I am like you and personally would not want to cut the stock system and be able to return to OEM easily. Buying the connecting pipes seems to be a good solution for you. I would do the same. Good luck and enjoy your Remus exhaust. |

Thanks for everyone's responses... I have decided to still go with the REMUS RACE and Eisenmann Connecting Pipes. Due to the German TUV, this is easiest. And also not bad prices for quality products! That way in case I need to re-install OEM Exhaust/Muffler System to pass inspection, it will be easy to do so. No cutting involved! Then can pass inspection, then re-install REMUS RACE and Eisenmann connecting pipes...
