Sorry that I wasn't specific...Google maps works on my 2009 E70 X5. My 2008 E92 M3 doesn't have the Google maps feature.

As far as I can tell it's POIs but there was some discussion on some thread somewhere about uploading routes via the glovebox USB interface. Yeah, I know, not real helpful. BMW-Routes only appears to work for Europe although the map is global (my German sucks).
