For those of you who qualify for this program, these are some damn good prices. Check it out.

The price is quite nice. No gas guzzler tax charged when delivered in Europe to boot.

Can't wait to go back overseas. You save a ton of money purchasing through the military sales program.

This program is fantastic. I'm in Iraq right now and got word from a guy sitting next to me on the planeride out that BMW did this. When I saw how deep the discount was, I jumped on it.

It'll be there shortly after I get home and I'll be taking delivery at the Performance School in Greer, SC. Thanks, BMW.

Free shipping home too, just have to pay port fees on the U.S. side. Anyone know if you have to pay the gas guzzler tax when you bring it back in?

If it is delivered "new" to CONUS, then you do pay the GGT (as I recall). If you are stationed in Europe and take delivery/register it in Europe, then there is no GGT. The downside is that I never received the "window sticker", which would have showed the GGT.

I am not sure if there is a "time limit" on the GGT, but evidently there is on the import duty tax, in terms of accepting delivery and shipping it back "too quickly".

I will head back to CONUS after a little 3 years of ownership, so all should be good...just have a year over here with no warranty.

You can purchase additional year of warranty for 250 Euro. I think it's worth peace of mind.

Ah thanks. This is what they're telling me in regards to import tax:

Quote:
Import Tax is charged at 2.5% of the total value stated on the Bill of Sale. As a general rule the criteria for free (non-taxable) importation, are that the owner must have been stationed abroad for 140 consecutive days and must have taken physical possession of the vehicle while stationed abroad.
A copy of official military (PCS) orders must accompany the vehicle and as some US ports of entry stipulate a minimum mileage requirement in order to avoid Import Tax, it is also recommended that your vehicle be shipped with a minimum of 500 miles at the time of importation.
Just wanted to make sure I wasn't stuck with a $1300 bill for the GGT when I went to register it.

I payed 200 euros for mine, although it ended up being wasted money since I left 5 months later, but the peace of mind was nice. If your SA won't get back to you(what a shock since they have your money already), just contact another one or another dealership.

What is covered and for how long? My 2 years of initial warranty is up in March 2011, and I am scheduled to PCS in About June of 2012, with the M stored winters.

My SA was typically attentive, but dropped the ball on this one. I am deploying again soon, so maybe he will lose the next sale.....

2011 Same Price

I just ordered a 2011 E90 - prices are identical to 2010 prices through military sales. As you've probably read, the tech package is $2500 when ordered with the competition package.

It extends the regular warranty and everything is covered. You can go back to your salesman and they should be able to do it, if not let me know. Who did you buy from - Pentagon or Bavarian?

Not sure about the lease, but I doubt it.

Bavarian....I will bug him when I get out the field. If not I may hit you up for a contact at Pentagon. It looks like I am looking at about 200 or 250 Euro. For what period are you extended? Price with or without the VAT? Thanks!

I do not believe that there is a lease program available through military sales and you would be hard pressed to engage an independent company to lease a US spec car in Europe.
