Drove around in today's snow for the first time - so far the WS-60s seem very good, despite being brand new. Snow covered hills are no problem. Overall, quite pleased so far.

Any reason you guys went with WS-60s instead of LM-60s? Same tread pattern, but higher speed rating.
I went with the LMs as I figured they might last a bit longer.

Isn't the WS60s a snow & ice winter tire, and the LMs a performance winter tire? If so, the WS tires should give better traction in bad conditions, but the LMs better dry winter pavement performance.

SO far, my impression is that the Blizzaks are considerably more grippy on snow and ice than Michelin X-Ice winters I had a couple of years ago.

Just thought I'd check in with everyone as I'm about to get my car back tomorrow. Just short of 1 month ago I got rear-ended on a real slippery day by a typical all-season tire SUV driver who couldn't understand why his SUV didn't stop as fast as my M. Oh yeah, cause I put winter tires on!! Since it's WINTER I thougth that to be appropraite. Ass.....
Figures I get it back on a crappy weather day tho... Hope everyone else is fairing okay out there.

Ok,
WTF , have all the Calgary guys dissappeared, LOL!!!! Ok guys, I'm dying to drive my M3, decided to give my car a few gifts for being so nice and quiet all winter. Looking at different exhaust options, kinda wanna go loud. Any suggestions. Right now I'm leaning towards Gintani Race, was going to do full Race set up but batman914 has talked me into just starting with the rear section. Love to get input. Also, I'm refinishing the whees, need suggestions on color combos. Thanks guys, looking forward to some meets soon. Ali Baba Kabob House

I literally live completely on the opposite side of the city from you.
I'm in De Winton by Heritage Pointe Golf Course. Weekends work best but me but Im not sure if your in a rush or not but I dont drive it in the winter so we may need to wait till next month or sooner if the weather really drys things up. So why Gintani anyways? Can I ask what your budget is and plans are? I was just in Houston Texas 3 days ago and heard a few bad ass M's so I know a few different sounds.

I think the HP numbers are 525, 575 and 600. My hands are shaking just typing those numbers. If I keep my car, I am strongly considering 2 - 575. Going to make my decision over the weekend! |

Well, myself and Jag (a.k.a batman913) are waiting to go for a ride in Jason's car, then we'll see. Perhaps ordering 3 units to Calgary will get us a little discount, not to mention a break on install

Have any of you (or Jason) inquired about the stg 3 600hp and confirmed with Roman if our Husky / Mohawk 94 with 10% ethenol gas will work with their kit?

The Blizzak WS 60s are great on snow and ice to be sure. I did get stuck when we got that big dump in November, but that was just because the snow I got stuck in was too deep. The same day, my friend got stuck in his A4 Quattro with winter tires.
The dry road performance of he WS60 leaves much to be desired though. It feels like I'm driving on marshmallows. Having said that, the M3 is my regular winter ride, so that's a sacrifice I was willing to make when I got them.
