Kim Jong Il apparently has the 2nd largest active army in the world behind China with 1 Million active members (China has 2.3 million), 25% of the population of North Korea has sort of relation to the military

I wonder how much all that hand to hand combat skills are actually used in modern warfare...

actually, north korea is quite "stable" politically because of Kim Jong Il, theres no domestic revolts what so ever, but thats mainly because he will kill everyone who ever tries and there are no other political parties in N. Korea other than the Communist Party

i think the western world still knows very little about N. Korea, all we hear on CNN is that Kim Jong Il is some mad man who likes to push buttons to launch nukes and missiles over Japan, starve its people, likes big armies, guns, tanks, women and most importantly hate Americans

yea, the people who try to escape to S. Korea or China are often killed if they get captured by N. Korean border guards who are ordered to "shoot to kill" anyone tries to flee the country
