Allow myself to introduce.....myself

Hello all, wanted to give a virtual wave and say hello. Recently (mid-Nov) picked up my e90 M3 as I am now in the family way and needed 4 doors (unfortunately as I prefer the coupe's looks). Went for Silverstone II after much deliberation and ultimately I'm happy although I do like AW and SG as colour options. Spec wise, went DCT, EDC, 19"s, Individual Hi-Fi and DAB, sunroof etc, etc only really missing off the comfort access as over £500 seemed a tad steep! Really happy with the motor having had the 1200 mile break-in completed on Xmas Eve, really opened my eyes (and bowels on one occasion) since then when playing around with the M-settings...

While I am on my soap-box, I wanted to ask about eveyone's experience with the stealers when servicing. I have to say that I am underwhelmed by the dealer I purchased from as the 1200 mile service was completed with a fault code for the screen wash not being resolved even though I asked them to top it up. It's that lack of attention to detail that bothers me, especially as the car was only in for 85 minutes which included a "wash", I provided my own oil and yet it still cost nigh-on £300!!! Are there any M-specialist service agents out there (maybe Sytner or Vines have one)? I would prefer to pay more for better service...

Welcome to the site, great bunch of guys, full of advice/guidance.

Prices of service change from dealer to dealer, for instance I'm due, well in 8000miles, an oil change. Been to two dealers, one in Milton Keynes and one in London. Was quoted £345 in Milton Keynes and £415 for the London one. I have yet to go through the "Customer Experience" and talking to some of the guys at our recent meet (see post) it appears to be, as you say, underwhelming. I would shop around if you have several dealers near or a reasonable drive away from you, but then again why should you!? Service should be what it says, service! Prior to buying my 'vert I had heard of horror stories and some good ones as well but this topic does annoy me when I hear the bad ones after all the cars arent cheap and BMW do put themselves up there with the top marques, so why should they treat their customers as if they are shite.

My vert goes in next monday for a DCT software update, which is the first time I'm handing her over to a service dept. The work is, hopefully, going to be done on warranty, so in theory it shouldn't be a problem, but therein lay the problem! I shall report back on how things went good or bad.

Anyway, welcome and lets see some pics.

Welcome welcome....
Not sure where in London you are... Hexagon in Kentish town are supposed to be ok... but I take mine to Stephen James in Enfield... any problems I had they resolved.
