I've heard the donation requirement (membership) runs ~$5k - is that an accurate figure? How do you get in touch with them to contribute?

Yup...unfortunately there was a rash of members in the past that abused their membership. As a result, the price of entrance went WAY up. I paid very little to be a lifetime member and was grandfathered in once the price hikes occurred.
