For a twenty-something you sure have strange taste in cars, two chick-cars and one old-fart car and your thick as a brick. Are you still living at daddy's house?? Dave

Actually I have to agree, the M3 Convertible is a chick car. I just dont understand the point of it.
Snow tires, LSD, 414HP and near perfect weight distribution provides a great driving experience. I also didnt lease my car, but the one difference is I OWN MY CAR it doesnt OWN ME.

However, Mr. Vert and I would probably agree that it would not be our daily driver in the snow. Dave

I just left Toronto from a hockey trip with my daughter and narrowly missed the storm out of Buffalo where traffic was stranded for 17 hours due to the snow. If I had been unlucky enough to have had my M in that neck of the woods even with snow tires I would have been a goner. It was brutal in Canada, no place for that car.

You would have been a "goner", seriously? Just what do people think police cars, ambulances, fire engines, and other emergency vehicles have for the drive wheels? The vast majority are rear wheel drive with snows mounted. Colorado Highway Patrol Crown Vics are out on I-70 in the mountains here in some of the worst conditions you will find anywhere - sub zero temps, white out blizzards, steep grades... They are nose heavy, huge pieces of shit and they do great. I have been in my M in those conditions and my car performed great as well.
If you have the means and desire to have two cars, good for anybody who does (seriously). And, yes, an AWD car with snows would have better traction under acceleration than a comparable RWD car. Personally, I like having one car that can handle anything, a snowstorm in the mountains or a track in 100F heat. Just don't say that the M cannot be driven in severe winter conditions unless you have actually experienced it yourself with the right equipment (tires). |

NO NO....What are you talking about? If the F430 Scuderia made down a few blocks for a PHOTOSHOOT then it should have been a breeze for the F355 but MR. DAVE & the rest of the WinterITES can fill-in on this! Because apparently in Colorado & other parts where these people reside all exotics and M's are on the loose racing in the winter in WORSE conditions then CANADA |

Jesus...
The Scud was clearly out for a photo shoot. The 355 Spider, guarantee that didn't have snows on it (or the driver was a moron, or both.) Don't put words in my mouth - I said AWD/4WD cars have more traction under acceleration that a comparably equipped RWD car, not that they "perform better." As for being smart enough, clearly you are ignorant and not in a position to argue the capabilities of an M3 on snow tires without ever having tried it. You stated your opinion early on, if you don't want to drive your car in the winter I really don't give a shit. Don't argue with people when you don't have the facts or experience to do so. Would love to get this thread back on track - "Snow Pictures"... |
